FREMONT, CA: Microsoft publishes Windows 10 Business roadmap that consolidates some of its planned Windows 10 features, which are in development.

Microsoft lists 3 major features in their offering. These include Enterprise Data Protection, Multifactor authentication for apps and websites and Microsoft Edge Extensions. The Edge Extensions will allow users to add or modify browser functionality.

Multifactor authentication will allow users to use Windows Hello and/or Microsoft Passport to authenticate/log on to an application or website. The Enterprise data protection feature can help organizations by providing file-level encryption for business data and apps thathelps facilitate data separation, containment, app control and leak prevention.

Microsoft is also working on using Windows Phone and Android devices as remote credentials stores for device unlocking and user authentication, along with companion devices such as the Band 2 wearable.

Microsoft announces Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection which is described as service for businesses, helping them to detect "post-breach" attacks.

Another feature under development will let Windows Phone or Android phone users unlock Windows 10 devices. The Microsoft Band 2 wristwatch also will be getting this unlocking capability.

Some of the more interesting features on the roadmap are enhancements to Continuum, Microsoft's technology that allows Windows Phones to connect to large screen montiors, mice and keyboards in order to work like PCs.

Start menu updates, picture-in-picture, screen drawing, PC-to-PC casting and integration of the Cortana personal digital assistant with the Action Centre notifications are other features currently in development.
