FREMONT, CA: Microsoft releases a new version of SharePoint software Server 2016, the software offers enterprise document management and team collaboration platform.

The company also announces a new SharePoint Framework to support client-side development and the upcoming release of a new mobile SharePoint app. SharePoint server integrates with OneDrive to offer users to copy documents and files from OneDrive to SharePoint.

The software will analyse information gathered from Officesuch as lists of participants in a meeting, collaborators on documents, and frequent email contacts to create what the company calls Office Graph. This new feature will discover news, reports, initiatives and other information that will be tailored to individual users. The main goal of Office Graph and of the new version of SharePoint is to increase productivity.

The software integrates with OneDrive for Business, Yammer and Delve. Delve purports to anticipate office-worker needs by delivering relevant data proactively.

On the mobile front, the new SharePoint mobile app for Android, iOS and Windows offers quick access to recent and followed sites and allows users to switch between multiple online and on-premises accounts. The search feature has various filters, including sites, people and files.
