FREMONT, CA: NCR Corporation, a consumer and transaction services provider, announces NCR FastLane SelfServ Checkout Release 6 to its series of NCR self-checkout services to help retailers enhance the checkout experience of its customers and management of its stores.

NCR allows shoppers the flexibility to scan, pack and pay. It enables small stores to offer more lanes with its self-checkout capability. During peak-hours, the self-checkout mode can be converted to a cashier-assisted mode allowing the system to be assisted by staff.

The NCR Release 6 is also equipped with a UNav feature that enables visually impaired users to use headphones, control volume, and easily navigate using tactile keys. It features a sleek, contemporary design and advanced currency recycling capabilities. The advanced recycling abilities are standard with every unit. It can input a stack of bills or coin bunches reducing time for faster checkout process. The global cash and coin devices are able to recycle up to eight different coin and six note denominations, greatly reducing the amount of cash in the unit and extending the time between replenishment.

    The NCR RealScan 79

The biopic scanner is easy to use and the display module can be rotated to a 180 degrees allowing flexibility while usage.  The FastLane solution includes the NCR RealScan 79-all-imaging bi-optic scanner/scale for fast reading of barcodes from items. It also reads barcodes displayed on the shopper’s smart phone, like loyalty cards and vouchers. The RealScan 79 also offers optional ScanWatch software starting with the innovative produce assurance capability that will add new security to detect item switching.

NCR’s innovative self-checkout systems, increases the checkout capability experience of customers and empowers the retailer’s capability to be optimally used.

“As retailers continue to reinvent the front of their stores, the flexible, convertible design of our new FastLane solution will give them options to maximize the value of their investment,” says Dusty Lutz, general manager of Self-Service, NCR Retail. “Whether it is in a small convenience store or the largest hypermarket, our FastLane Release 6 solution provides better service through a flexible and naturally convenient shopping experience.”
