INDIA: NetApp partners with Zaloni to announce an innovative hybrid approach to data lifecycle management for the data lake. The information technology and services provider also launches the new version of NetApp SANtricity Storage software and NetApp E2800. NetApp E2800 is an entry level solid state storage disk system designed for midsize businesses and remote offices requiring a simple and cost-effective solution to support data analytics applications.
NetApp’s E-Series
The new solutions provide better performance, usability, efficiency, and flexibility. It can reduce the operating costs upto 35 percent. The performances are increased three times while accessing and analyzing data. The videos can be processed six timesfaster and gain quality performance at the lowest acquisition cost for an all flash array.
Data Lifecycle Management for the Data Lake
Data lakes are used as a powerful tool for managing big volumes of data. The companies are shifting to mobile cloud-based applications and Internet of Things (IoTs) for right time delivery mediums for big data. The NetApp E-Series and NetApp StorageGRID Webscale storage options enable organisations to define logical data lakes on and off the premises.
“While data lakes enable significant business benefits, homogenous data storage in the data lake degrades performance and efficiency. The automated data lifecycle management solution from Zaloni and NetApp helps customers appropriately size their data lake through tiering and use policies to automatically manage the storage tier based on the value of the content to the business,” said Scott Gidley, vice president of Product at Zaloni. “Now customers can archive or delete data no longer needed for analytics or compliance and leverage object stores to reduce archive costs without sacrificing performance.”
