Ocean Insights and FourKites Enter Into Partnership to Transform Ocean Freight Tracking

By Apac CIO Outlook | Thursday, October 03, 2019

    Dr. Felix Richter, CEO

The new strategic partnership is designed with a plug and play deployment model that incorporates Ocean Insights' top line ocean freight tracking data with FourKites' real-time visibility platform to provide domestic and international logistics professionals real end to end visibility.

FREMONT, CA: Leading predictive supply chain visibility company FourKites entered into a partnership with Ocean Insights, a leader in ocean freight intelligence. The new strategic partnership is designed with a plug and play deployment model that incorporates Ocean Insights' top line ocean freight tracking data with FourKites' real-time visibility platform to provide domestic and international logistics professionals real end to end visibility.

“We’re excited to now offer true door-to-door capabilities to our customers via the integration of our superior ocean data, together with FourKites’ over-the-road data and powerful predictive platform,” said Dr. Felix Richter, CEO of Ocean Insights.  Import and export teams now need to only rely on a single system for a door to door delivery after this new partnership. FourKites' unparalleled network of over 260 global shippers and Ocean Insights real-time container tracking facility means customers can keep an eye on their consignments from time to time.

Over the years, Ocean Insights has been the pioneer in integrating carrier information and actual vessel whereabouts, providing carrier-neutral, real-time data of all shipments across all major regional and international ocean carriers, as well as container status updates and predicted ETA. "We have focused on ocean freight for many years, enhancing the supply chain visibility. Ocean Insights' strength lies in offering end to end ocean visibility; our in-depth knowledge and sophistication make us second to none," Richter added. Ocean Insights was recognized as one of the Top 10 Logistics Technology Solutions Providers - 2019 by APAC CIO Outlook magazine.

"At Ocean Insights, we are surfing along to enhance visibility into ocean freight and improve supply chain management," said Richter. The company has been improving visibility, transparency, and efficiency by connecting millions of data points across the globe and providing actionable insights into ocean freights. FourKites, which was launched five years ago, has pioneered the industry to shift to real-time visibility, allowing shippers to improve delivery time and optimize their supply chains based on actionable data and predictive intelligence.

“This partnership gives FourKites and Ocean Insights customers powerful new capabilities to track cargo and notify downstream supply chain stakeholders of potential delivery disruptions,” said Mathew Elenjickal, CEO of FourKites. Customers can now make use of the platform, which will help reduce detention and demurrages charges. "Now, supply chain professionals can better manage their operations and unlock value through a single, consistent visibility platform, regardless of international and domestic responsibilities," added Mathew.
