Schibsted Media Group, with 8000 employees in 22 countries, is an international media group. Through media firms, digital markets, and growth companies, millions around the world interact with Schibsted’s popular digital services. In September 2018, Schibsted was announced to be reorganized into two companies that are focusing on growth. An independent listed company will be forming all of its markets outside of the Nordics.
The company believes that it would give users, clients, staff, and shareholders more value over the long term in this decision. Schibsted ASA's Board of Directors has decided that they would initiate a process in order to restructure the company into two growth-oriented corporations such as Schibsted and Marketplace International (MPI).
Schibsted encourages intelligent founders and winning teams to develop their products, to scale their companies worldwide and to maximize market growth. They are always looking for innovative, disruptive business models that create unique value. In the course of the years, Blocket, Hitta, Prisyakt, TV.nu, Let's Deal, and Lendo made investments. The company is investing in ambitious digital enterprises to help founders create excellent products, maximize growth, and scale globally.
The remaining position of CD&TO was announced today by Schibsted. The managing director of Cisco Norway and Iceland is Sven Størmer Thaulow. Schibsted has a strong and rapidly growing digital consumer product portfolio that empowers people in their everyday lives. As a digital frontline region, Nordics is key to Schibsted's development of existing offerings and technology, testing new exciting solutions and disturbing customer offers.
Kristin Skogen Lund, CEO of Schibsted, presented her new business organization in December, which includes the Nordical Marketplaces, Publishing, and Schibsted Next, three business fields and three support functions. Raoul Grünthal will, in addition, have a functional role with the responsibility of boosting growth and entrepreneurship across the company. In each of the major markets in business areas and functions, there will be an informal geographical structure to ensure revenue synergy in Sweden and Norway respectively and enhance the Schibsted market position.
