Oracle Acquires Textura to Expand its Cloud Services
By apacciooutlook | Monday, December 03, 2018
REDWOOD CITY, CA: Oracle buys out Textura, a construction management company. The acquisition bolsters Oracle’s offerings for industry verticals including retailing, financial services, and advertising and marketing.
The Textura deal would expand its range of cloud-based tools such as online contracts and payment services.
Oracle will combine Textura with its Oracle Primavera product-management software, which also focuses on construction, to form a single division. The unit would provide a cloud-based platform to manage all phases of engineering and construction projects.
Oracle Primavera offers a suite of cloud solutions for project, cost, time and risk management. The Oracle Primavera flagship products have been completely re-architected for the cloud, and the result is a set of cloud services that are growing rapidly as construction and engineering companies embrace digital transformation. Together, Oracle Primavera and Textura will form the Oracle Engineering and Construction Global Business Unit offering a comprehensive cloud-based project control and execution platform that manages all phases of engineering and construction projects.
Textura helps automate both the creation of invoices and the billing process itself, as well as a number of additional chores that crop up once construction is already underway. In particular, its aptly-named PerformanceTracker service makes it possible to assess the work of contractors throughout a project’s duration to identify slowdowns that may require attention and find ways to pick up the pace. Like general-purpose reporting software, the application employs graphical dashboards to make the data easily accessible the various parties involved in the undertaking.
