The future of business has always been in the cloud, and big data is following suit. In 2021, almost all BI elements, including analytics, data storage, data models and sources, and computing power, will be moved to the cloud.

Fremont, CA: Businesses are quickly recognizing the numerous advantages of incorporating Business Intelligence (BI) software, such as increased operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and gaining a competitive advantage. On the other hand, businesses are now streamlining their approach to BI to significantly improve its effectiveness within the organization. Here are a few of the top business intelligence trends that have been identified and are expected to dominate in 2022.

    Data-Driven Storytelling

Because of the improved decision-making opportunities provided, the transition from simple data analysis to customized interpretation will be a massive BI trend in 2022. This type of data storytelling necessitates data analysts communicating the information received in a much more accessible manner that outlines practical solutions and systems. The data storytelling trend will transform how businesses use data to engage, adopting new ideas tailored to the specific business model.

    Enhanced Data Security

As a data-driven business grows, we witness increased risk and a requirement for better data security. South Africans were awakened to the reality of cyber threats following the Experian data breach, which led to the release of approximately 24 million personal details and nearly 800 000 business details. As a result, there is a decrease in market value, a significant drain on resources, and a significant loss of public trust. The trend toward increased data security in the BI context has been growing and will continue to do so in 2021 as businesses seek more secure business data solutions.

    Cloud

The future of business has always been in the cloud, and big data is following suit. In 2021, almost all BI elements, including analytics, data storage, data models and sources, and computing power, will be moved to the cloud. Businesses are looking for more connected cloud strategies that come with the benefit of reduced risk and flexibility to ensure this is not a disparate operation.
