MALAYSIA: REDtone –an integrated telecommunications and solutions provider – in collaboration with Metaswitch Networks is building a real-time cloud communications portfolio leveraging latter’s virtual network solutions to deliver advanced unified communications.
The portfolio will be built on Metaswitch's virtualized business communications, session border controller, call switching and service analysis platforms. The fully virtualized solution will enable REDtone to test small virtual services on standard servers, features to be introduced sequentially and cost-effectively; deployed services to be scaled instantaneously; andno software functions or customer applications are left to be stranded by proprietary hardware end of life, or unforeseen performance constraints.
In order to achieve these benefits, REDtone is deploying a full suite of Metaswitch’s virtualized network functions including the MetaSphere Multiservice Telephony Application Server (MTAS), Service Assurance Server (SAS) (for deep data mining and service management), Perimeta Session Border Controller and Accession Communicator (for desktop/mobile unified communications and collaboration).
“Progressive providers like REDtone are deploying virtualized network functions to remain at the forefront of global telecommunications transformation,” says Ray Tseng, Metaswitch’s VP of sales, APAC. “We are extremely pleased to have been selected by REDtone as the foundation for accelerating the innovation required to support their rapid growth and to stay ahead of incumbents in the highly competitive Malaysian business services market.
