SAP Labs is working on building connections between German and Indian institutes to strengthen its collaboration with academia in India. It is also engaging with the startup ecosystem in the country.
FREMONT, CA: To improve its partnerships with Indian academic institutions, SAP Labs is aiming to create connections between German and Indian institutions. Additionally, it is interacting with the nation's startup sector. The IT business, with its headquarters in Germany, has a research division called SAP Labs.
In areas where they desire a stronger concentration, they are already conducting extensive study with several universities and will do so in the future. Labs are also considering inter-university partnerships with German universities, where they have a good reputation, Sindhu Gangadharan, the Chief Executive of SAP Labs India.
Gangadharan said the business had developed a curriculum at IIM-Bangalore to develop future AI managers. Quantum and the metaverse are two topics the corporation plans to concentrate on in the near to medium term. According to her, SAP Labs is utilising the entire local ecosystem, from partners and startups to academia. Since they work directly with their clients' offshore operations, which are based in India, SAP Labs is currently developing many fundamental innovations for its customers worldwide. Global clients with global capability centres utilise the ecosystem's potential and co-innovating to help drive business.
The corporation has roughly 14,000 employees across five Indian cities and views India as a key development hub. It said earlier this year that it will double its personnel by 2025 and open a second campus in Bengaluru. SAP Labs' SAP Startup Studio has nurtured 51 early-stage firms.
According to Gangadharan, SAP often searches for early-stage enterprise tech companies in industries that match its portfolio. These companies will access their 500,000 customers worldwide after they are certified and listed on the SAP app centre.
