ROUND ROCK, TX: Dell announces the new release of SharePlex, which extends services beyond the traditional Oracle-to-Oracle database replication software, now enabling users to replicate Oracle data directly to SAP HANA, Teradata, or EnterpriseDB Postgres.
SharePlex is Dell’s database replication and near-real time data integration solution. With the new release, organizations can migrate databases from Oracle onto SAP HANA, Teradata or other modern platforms, helping them push reporting and analytics initiatives forward.
Along with supporting SAP HANA, Teradata or EnterpriseDB Postgres, SharePlex now supports a host of target environments, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP ASE, Java Message Service (JMS), SQL and XML Files.
Transforming database infrastructure is a major challenge for companies of any size, irrespective of the target. SharePlex enables organizations to migrate and upgrade their environments such as implementing new production databases on-premises or in the cloud, or offloading data for reporting and analytics use cases, by ensuring high availability of mission-critical applications.
Dell also extends its SharePlex solution to support modern database platforms by providing enterprises with the flexibility and agility needed to grow in order to diversify and modernize their database infrastructure. SharePlex therefore empowers organizations to leverage better performance from in-memory databases and better manage evolving analytic requirements.
"SharePlex pioneered the concept of Oracle database replication, and customers around the world depend on it every day. Now, with the addition of support for SAP HANA, Teradata, and EnterpriseDB Postgres, Dell continues to evolve SharePlex to help customers grow and sustain an increasingly diverse database environment. Whether structured or unstructured, proprietary or open source, on-premises or in the cloud, Dell is committed to supporting all data across all platforms. This deliberately agnostic approach enables us to meet customers where they are and help them get where they want to go next by providing the right solution at the right time," says Darin Bartik, vice president of marketing, systems and information management, Dell.
