“Residents and officials in smart cities expect improved road and passenger safety to emerge with smart infrastructures because road and passenger safety is a prerequisite.”

Fremont, CA: The smart transportation market is worth 130 billion dollars by 2024. This represents a 20 percent CAGR increase from 2018 to 2024. Resultantly, intelligent transportation solutions are gaining traction worldwide, even though the development speed might be expensive. Rapid urbanization, always-connected automobiles, environmental protection programs, and traffic optimization technology are the key drivers of new mobility. Residents and officials in smart cities expect improved road and passenger safety to emerge with smart infrastructures because road and passenger safety is a prerequisite.

Furthermore, smart transportation is comprised of intelligent infrastructures providing improved services to passengers and drivers for better coordination and more effective transportation networks. Software-based infrastructures enable new modes of transportation to grow with intelligent parking management, improved traffic performance, automated surveillance systems, and fuel-saving solutions.

    Advantages of Smart Transportation Technology

Increased security will help innovative transportation technologies perform better. GPS and IoT sensors, for example, lower the likelihood of accidents and enable smart traffic monitoring, making journeys faster and safer. Similarly, combining digital communication systems, real-time ticket management, smart parking, and traffic jam mitigation result in a more meaningful environment for passengers in municipal transportation infrastructure.

    Improved Management

Intelligent traffic management systems can disperse transportation flows away from congested locations via push notifications that provide drivers with a complete view of city traffic in real-time. Chatbots can serve as intelligent ticket sales channels capable of automating ticket handling.

    Efficient Performance

Fuel-saving solutions can dispatch vehicles more rationally and discover the shortest route possible with machine learning algorithms enabled by urban traffic data acquired via GPS and street sensors. Overall, it leaves a lower carbon footprint.
