Three Trends Redefining the Future of Manufacturing

Apac CIO Outlook | Wednesday, September 01, 2021
    Tweet

While robots used to be associated with ultra-advanced technology that necessitated the employment of skilled roboticists, modern robotics technology is making automation accessible to businesses of all sizes.

Fremont, CA: Advances in technology are changing the way nearly every industry operates. As manufacturers look to stay competitive in the marketplace, they are constantly searching for the latest and greatest inventions, strategies, and systems.

Here are three future manufacturing trends:

    Accessible Automation

Automation in manufacturing is not a new concept, but it has only recently gained general acceptance. Automation is becoming increasingly available to more firms, and it is changing the way businesses work. Easy-to-use robotics technologies, user-friendly Manufacturing Process Management (MPM) systems, and human-robot collaboration make automation possible. Manufacturing automation helps firms cut costs, improve operations, and boost profits.

    Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet of Things (IoT) assists manufacturers in connecting and monitoring the many components of their operations, allowing them to get the previously unavailable knowledge. Manufacturers may use this data to adjust, optimize, and improve any aspect of their production process since they are connected. IoT is moving the sector forward by using smart sensors and cloud connectivity powered by the internet. Companies use IoT capabilities to improve safety, save money, streamline manufacturing, and even create new products.

    Enterprise Resource Planning

ERP technology has been used in the manufacturing industry for years, but with the emergence of cloud-based SaaS options that are faster to adopt and cheaper for small enterprises, it is now more widely used. ERP solutions enable manufacturers to automate several aspects of their operations through a single system. Manufacturers can then use this global touchpoint to gain the insight they need to control the entire manufacturing process and make improvements and modifications as required.
