Fremont, CA: Technology has brought about a transformational change in the education sector. The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the adoption of edtech tools and solutions to successfully impart education without compromising students' and teachers' safety. However, the post-COVID era is expected to witness the proliferation of edtech innovations.

Let us look at some top trends in edtech:

    Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things (IoT) has already taken the world by storm, bringing tremendous opportunities to industries and sectors, including education. IoT is able to create smarter and more connected schools as well as universities by bringing learning centers to a virtual environment. For example, IoT sensors are helpful to track traffic movements throughout the campus, providing schools key data to decide which areas need improved security features. Besides, real-time communication tools have enabled education institutions to share students' progress reports with their parents.

    Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI has taken education to the next level, ensuring enhanced efficiency and accuracy. For example, facial recognition has allowed educational institutions to track their students' attendance easily. Computer vision is helpful to secure campus premises and infrastructure from unauthorized access. Other use cases include bolstering exam security by catching cheating instances during online exams and conducting exams without the need for any human invigilation.

    Chatbots

Chatbots are an amazing technology that understands users' intentions and can respond to human conversations. Chatbots are a great tool to save time and administration costs by rapidly resolving mobile app or website queries to a visitor instantly. A chatbot can be integrated with questions that are frequently asked regarding fees, courses, and placement opportunities of an education institution, helping prospective students resolve their doubts.
