FREMONT, CA: AI is created to enable machines to perform tasks associated with intelligence. As a branch of computer science, the goal of AI is to ultimately mimic human behaviours. Based on its capabilities, it can be categorised into three sections:
General AI: Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) machines can replicate human intelligence.
Narrow AI: It can accomplish specific tasks, and is now a restricted stage.
Super AI: This is a self-aware AI that possesses the cognitive capabilities that are superior to humans, and therefore, can perform any task that a human can.
The Impact of AI on the Future
As the applications of AI are vast and are in multiple fields, the future of AI should be discussed in at least some of them.
Education
There are many online courses accessible through AI at the moment, however, AI is predicted to change traditional schooling in the future. Similar to manufacturing industries, which have replaced labourers with robots and technology, education is also said to follow the same route. In addition, AI can customise the curriculum to an individual personality and abilities, facilitating efficient learning. This can strengthen students and amplify their talents.
Healthcare
In a country, not all individuals will have access to healthcare services, due to some factors such as inadequate infrastructure, and underqualified doctors, among others. In such scenarios, an AI can diagnose diseases by analysing information from an individual’s medical history or a fitness band. It can analyse a pattern and prescribe medication. As the primary focus of healthcare is to gather accurate and relevant information on patients, an AI model fits the job role perfectly. It can gather and manage all patient information with ease. In addition to these advantages, AI is easily expandable, adaptable, and can therefore be applied to multiple business processes.
Advertising
A campaign can be replicated using AI-powered systems, with the availability of historical data. This would provide more precise results, considering the alternative, which is investing large amounts of money in an experimental campaign. This would transform marketing as it provides companies and brands with a safe location to invest in.
Sentiment analysis tools ease the process of interacting with potential consumers, which generates leads, converting them into sales, predicting the market share of a new product before it is on the shelves, and conducting competitive research.
Cybersecurity and Military
Military technologies which have been assisted by AI have generated autonomous weapon systems that do not necessitate the involvement of people, which results in a safe way to improve national security. The future may bring a robot military, which is as intelligent as a soldier and possesses the capability of performing various tasks. In cybersecurity, AI-assisted methods could improve efficacy, while simultaneously ascertaining a safe execution. However, the algorithm of AI might not be completely explainable, as its deep neural networks grow rapidly and continue to develop.
