WISeKey's BlockChain Centre of Excellence in Mauritius to Offer Secure Platform for Enterprise Businesses

PORT LOUIS, MU: WISeKey, a cyber security solutions provider, announces its objective of establishing a BlockChain Centre of Excellence in Mauritius to set up a Trusted Blockchain as a Service platform. This is an initiative to assist the Mauritius Government to create a Blockchain Ecosystem.
Investments in bitcoin and Blockchain infrastructure have topped USD 1 billion, and every major bank in the world is giving huge importance to the technology. WISeKey’s objective is to maintain the momentum, attract more global players and position Mauritius as a trusted and secure platform in the region for the deployment of Blockchain technology. Since Blockchain has the capability to deliver stronger security and faster compliance with reduced operating costs, WISeKey aims to leverage them for the benefit of Mauritian businesses, consumers and the Government.
For this, WISeKey plans to work with experts from industry, government, and academia to conduct research, get proper guidelines and create IP on blockchain technology. Naming the organization as Mauritius Blockchain Centre of Excellence, WISeKey desires to help position the country as a key and active player in the blockchain space. It will provide access to both policies, technical and business expertise, recommending a National Blockchain Platform to facilitate enterprises promptly adopt and on-board blockchain based solutions and services.
WISeKey is planning to build WISeID BlockChain app, through which users will always be in control of their digital identity stored on their mobile, IoT sensor or computer. The company will create WISeID Blockchain which will grow constantly as new blocks get added to it.
