Yummy Corp Raises US$7.75 M to Expand its Culinary Journey and Experience to its Customers

FREMONT, CA: Indonesian online catering and cloud kitchen startup, Yummy Corp, closed its Series A funding accounting to US$7.75 million. The initial funding round was led by SMDV (Sinarmas Digital Ventures) and Intudo Ventures. Other investors who participated in the Series A funding round are East Ventures, Agaeti Ventures, Sovereign’s Capital, and Selera Kapital by Sour Sally Group.
The investments now collected by Yummy Corp will be used to expand kitchens across 200 more locations in the year 2020. These targeted locations are placed all around major cities like Jakarta in Indonesia.
The CEO of the cloud kitchen startup quoted that the company aims to make use of the investments to enhance the quality of food and customer experience. With a focus mainly on customers and the addition of distribution points, the company would like to ensure faster delivery and fresher food to be savored anywhere the customers want to eat.
Since its inception in 2017, Yummy Corp offered two primary services, which were catering solutions and cloud kitchen. The company's catering solution offers food services to tech parks on-premises and off-premises. Yummy enables the customers to select and place the order for meals to eat through the Yummybox App using their corporate balance or pre-paid accounts.
All the while, Yummy Corp's cloud kitchen business called Yummy kitchen utilizes locally available culinary brands and delivery platforms to conduct its services for the network of delivery-oriented kitchens, serving as a platform for growth to its partner brands.
In May 2019, An acquisition was made by Yummybox. It bought the first online catering company in Indonesia, Berrykitchen. Yummy Corp expressed that the decision to acquire Berrykitchen was mainly due to the fact that both companies shared the same target market. Yummy Corp has always maintained fresh and healthy food dishes, today it owns about 25 kitchens in significant cities like Greater Jakarta area. These kitchens serve up to 10,000 meals every day and have a diverse menu of more than 3000 dishes.
