Paladion: Dynamic and Future Ready Cyber Defence Solutions

The cyber security industry is witnessing a massive and critical technological shift. Traditional defence mechanisms, processes, and security technologies are failing significantly in today’s sophisticated threat landscape. The industry need for better defence has encouraged a new model – Managed Detection and Response or MDR – a service that provides advanced threat detection and incident response capabilities. According to Gartner, by 2020, 15 percent of midsize and enterprise organizations will be using MDR or similar services. However, many existing Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) still use threat discovery based only on rules and signatures. They do not go beyond providing threat alerts to an enterprise. Customers are therefore left to their own devices to verify each incident and remediate the threat. Paladion’s MDR service bridges the gap between what has been offered so far and what customers need.

Founded in the year 2000 when the ideas of cyber defence and managed security services were still new in India, Paladion is the first MSSP to build and offer these advanced cyber defence capabilities throughout the subcontinent. In the words of EVP & Regional CEO – SEA and Cloud Managed Security, Rohit Kumar, “Paladion was built to reinforce and innovate in cyber security, and lead in the managed security services space.” Today, Paladion offers advanced services like MDR in an easy-to-consume, pay-as-you-go model as part of Paladion OnDemand (POD), its cloud-based cyber security offering. Paladion OnDemand’s Cloud Defence was founded in 2015 to provide premium cyber security services to a highly unprotected industry. Designed to provide the same premium level of high-speed cyber defence already available in Paladion’s CyberActive and Professional Services, the Managed Detection and Response service is now also part of the Paladion OnDemand offerings. POD tightly bundles Paladion’s proprietary semi-autonomous cyber platform and managed services with leading security technologies to create a cyber defence service that discovers threats earlier and responds faster to mitigate attacks. For instance, alert validation with MDR happens in minutes, instead of the hours needed in traditional security services. Likewise, incident analysis with MDR to evaluate impacts and uncover attack campaigns can now be done in hours, instead of the days it takes traditional MSSPs.

Paladion’s MDR service can enhance an organization’s SOC (security operations centre) by improving its prevention and detection capabilities, and bringing in swift threat response capabilities.

Presently, Paladion serves the cyber security needs of over 700 diverse companies, which includes several Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies

Moreover, the service can be set up as a full-service SOC with an MDR model that provides threat anticipation based on the latest threat intelligence, threat-hunting using automated analytical algorithms, and threat response by dedicated responders that investigate and mitigate cyber-attacks. Paladion’s cloud security offering also addresses another key challenge, especially for the Indian market – the affordability of premium cyber security in most organisations. Small and mid-level companiesoften have no more than an anti-virus solution on end-points. Even the bigger organisations may have no more than a SIEM (security information and event management) solution, which is not enough to stay protected from today’s sophisticated threats. Paladion now puts affordable, improved security within range of all these customers.

"Paladion was built to wrought in cyber security innovations that will lead the managed security services space"

Presently, Paladion serves the cyber security needs of over 700 diverse companies, which includes several Fortune100 and Fortune 500 companies, and employs 900+ specialized researchers, ethical hackers, threat hunters, malware engineers, SIEM specialists, incident responders, and more. This security talent is complemented by Paladion’s big data security automation platform that uses advanced security analytics and machine learning to provide faster-than-ever threat discovery and the corresponding response. To battle increasingly aggressive malicious programs and creative evasion of defence mechanisms, an innovative team of experts at Paladion focuses on creating security strategies that are dynamic and active enough to always stay a step ahead of attackers. As part of its innovation in security, Paladion is working to build blockchain based technology on Internet of Things (IoT) security for device authentication, registration, and security analytics. “These future-oriented security autonomics and IoT device security technologies are being built on the Azure cloud for global delivery and scale,” concludes Kumar. “They will enable enterprises, whatever their size, to stay secure today and in the future.”
