Performance Advantage Systems International (PASI): A Torchbearer of Digital Transformation for SME

Follow Performance Advantage Systems International on :

Rene Santos, President & Chief Executive Officer
Digital transformation, when executed right, enables enterprises to achieve better business outcomes and profitability. However, for several reasons, companies fall short of directing digital transformation in their favor. First and foremost, many companies fail at strategizing, which forces them to blindly follow the herd and make expensive, less informed choices. They fail to realize the real intent of digital transformation and continue to "live" in a world of make-believe. Poor strategizing can render even the most comprehensive solutions futile.

Take Microsoft Dynamics 365, for instance. With integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is powerful enough to eliminate the barriers among data, business processes, and people. The solution allows enterprises to evolve from a reactive business model to a proactive one by anticipating customer requirements and accelerating business outcomes. Most importantly, Dynamics 365 allows various departments of an organization—be it sales, customer service, or HR—to work collaboratively.

Unfortunately, many enterprises fail to utilize the full potential of Dynamics 365, despite its versatility in supporting various workflows within a business. It is merely used as a dashboard to visualize the financial structure of businesses, in a way that neither supports critical business objectives nor making effective decisions. "Companies are using ERP as a side mirror to view their financial data records. That is an outdated approach. They need to adopt effective solution sets that can progressively transform their businesses towards success," says Rene Santos, President of Performance Advantage Systems International (PASI). "If organizations want to go digital, they have to transform by eschewing the age-old practices and exhaustive tools. PASI has emerged as a trusted advisor and a catalyst in helping customers go through their digital transformation."

"Companies are using erp as a side mirror to view their financial data records. However, that is an outdated approach. They need to adopt effective solution sets that can progressively transform their businesses towards success"

Philippines-based PASI was established to solve this conundrum via its agile Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central consultancy services. PASI is a pioneer and a legacy partner of Navision (now called Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) since 2002, prior Microsoft’s acquisition of the ERP. After 18 years, PASI continues to be a trusted advisor of customers backed by solid and experienced team of consultants, business analysts, accountants, trainers, and developers. As a part of the Microsoft Dynamics partner eco-system, PASI is helping customers transform their businesses digitally by utilizing the power of Microsoft technology. "Although our main focus has been on the Dynamics 365 Business Central, today, we use all the Microsoft tools to address diverse needs of clients," Santos remarks. PASI is one of the top partners of Microsoft in the Microsoft Dynamics that has been trained with solution selling, which helps them determine the needs of prospects, identify key problem areas, and recommend approaches that best suit the prospect's requirements.

If organizations want to go digital, they have to transform by eschewing the age-old practices, and exhaustive tools such as ERP need to be leveraged to their full potential for maximum business efficiency

The company always makes sure that its go-to-market strategies are well aligned with that of Microsoft.

    PASI: The Bona Fide Partner

With close to 20 years of cumulative experience, PASI enables clients to stay at par with the swift pace of technological evolution, thereby building sustainable and resilient business infrastructures. The company helps clients with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central and by integrating add-on applications to provide industry-specific solutions for multiple use cases.

One of the many examples that prove PASI's competency in orchestrating Microsoft solution sets is LS Central—a unified commerce solution that PASI built as an extension of MS Dynamics 365 Business Central for retail and hospitality. As an end-to-end retail and foodservice operations management platform, it helps retailers to have complete control over business processes via real-time access to valuable data and analytical tools. This takes away the need for businesses to maintain multiple applications and complex interfaces. They can perform every necessary operation, such as the unification of the front and back office, seamless management of the physical locations and e-commerce, or have a 360-degree view of customers from a single and centralized database. Most importantly, being powered by Azure, LS Central can be deployed on-premises, in the cloud, or as a hybrid solution, which makes this out-of-the-box solution a must-have to cut costs and save time by simplifying the IT environment and reducing the workload with automation.

With this solution, PASI has supported some of the largest hospitality installations across the Philippines and the Asia Pacific, accounting for more than 500 stores, including Starbucks, TGI Friday's and TWG. PASI is also responsible for a horizontal solution that helped address the complex taxation requirements in the Philippines. The company's Philippine Tax localization module, which is now available in AppSource, helps meet tax compliance across all industries. Philippine Taxation localization, Purchase Requisition, and Canvassing and Tenant Management System are some of the unique solutions designed by PASI. Most importantly, only PASI holds the required Microsoft certifications for this.

    Speaking the Customers' Language

What empowers PASI to stand ahead of the pack is its ability to identify and understand the customers' challenges. As opposed to many of its competitors that offer a generic solution for every business, PASI listens to its clients, gains knowledge of their goals and requirements, and streamlines solutions accordingly. Apart from that, the alliance with Microsoft as a Gold Partner with over two decades of excellence in the space has provided PASI the knowledge to offer valuable recommendations to clients on the industry best practices. The company also acts as a technical resource for several Microsoft partners in the Asia Pacific region. By proving their mettle as an expert consulting partner, PASI has successfully catered to more than 200 clientsacross diverse industry verticals, especially in retail. Interestingly, the service coverage of PASI spans outside Philippines across Guam and Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand serving more than 200 corporate customers.
Santos recalls an instance where they helped PROS-APAC Orthodental Corporation, a client that has been engaged in the marketing and distribution of orthodontic materials, including dental implantology, tooth whitening, cements and composites, and medicaments for accelerated healing and repairs of oral tissues. Over the years, PROS-APAC has built a loyal customer base of thousands of dentists throughout the Philippines. Initially, the client was taking two months to process their sales data, which was hampering their product management and decision-making capabilities. Engaging with PROS-APAC Orthodental Corporation, PASI provided consulting services that covered business process review (BPR) and re-engineering, and implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV and upgraded them to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

As an outcome of the partnership, today, the management team of PROS-APAC Orthodental Corporation can seamlessly access sales data and report in a day instead of two months and make informed decisions. In the forthcoming days, PASI has plans to build more complementary applications through Microsoft PowerApps to further enhance existing systems and facilitate the data capturing process by sending them straight into the client's MS Dynamics 365 Business Central. Renato Angeles, the president and General Manager of PROS-APAC Orthodental Corporation, rightly says about their unique partnership, "Serving more than 3,000 customers nationwide is never easy. Back then, it used to take us a couple of months to come up with data for managing product sales. PASI has reviewed our processes and re-engineered how we do things. Now, with the demanding task of generating data out of the way, we can fully concentrate on our competency—putting smiles on our customers' faces."

The Taste of Things to Come

Scripting many such success stories, PASI continues to expand its footprint in Microsoft Power Platform which combines the unmatched strength of PowerApps, PowerBI and Microsoft Flow under a single powerful platform for business application providing ease of building app and data insights. Most recently, with Microsoft's PowerApps, PASI has created applications such as Expense Management that allows the prospect's employees to enter their cash advances, liquidations, and reimbursements through their mobile phones.

In 2020, PASI plans to launch a total solution using the Business Applications of Microsoft purely for the real estate, from selling to building management functionalities built into the portfolio. Being an all-inclusive solution, this will revamp and expedite the traditional work process of the real estate companies while helping them boost profit. Besides, PASI plans to integrate Azure AI into its arsenal and offer a holistic solution, which will enable businesses to make crucial data-driven decisions faster.

Strengthening its capabilities for the future, PASI has also partnered with Cloud Ready Software (CRS), one of the distinguished Microsoft Development Centers, to enhance its knowledge and skills in terms of development. "We want to improve our support services and add-ons for Microsoft Dynamics to meet customer demands and satisfaction. The technology landscape is changing drastically, and we are keeping pace with it to ensure maximum benefits to our clients," concludes Santos.
