PGASCOM: Transforming the ICT Services Landscape

CIO VendorSri Budi Mayaningsih (Ibu Maya), President Director and CEO
Keeping up with the relentless pace of change in information and communications technology (ICT) is a constant challenge for businesses. As organizations increasingly depend on complex networked ICT solutions to underpin their business operations, it has become difficult and expensive for companies to manage such critical IT functions internally. To remain competitive, these enterprises require comprehensive ICT managed services that not only empower new business capabilities and functions, but are also mindful of organizational constraints such as time, resources, and budget. Standing as an enabler to meet the requirements is PGASCOM (also known as PGNcom)—a market-leading ICT and telecommunications network service provider from Indonesia. Drawing on PGASCOM’s international exposure and local expertise, more than 400-strong team headquartered in Jakarta, specializes in telecommunications, automation, IT managed services, and SCADA managed services, and envisions contributing to Indonesia’s growth in digitalization. The most distinguishing factor of the company is its proficiency in merging the concepts of Operations Technology (OT) with that of Information Technology (IT).

A subsidiary of PGN Group, a top Indonesian natural gas transportation and distribution company, PGASCOM started serving the telecommunications industry in 2007 with a focus on supporting PGN to provide a real-time communication solution for their gas management system. Soon after serving PGN by employing Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology to increase their bandwidth over existing fiber networks, PGASCOM set out to provide their ICT services to other customers. The growth trajectory of PGASCOM since then has been phenomenal.
Architecting best-in-breed telecommunication services, today, PGASCOM has a strong foothold in the Indonesian as well as international markets across industries such as Oil and Gas, Healthcare, and Education.

Sri Budi Mayaningsih (Ibu Maya), President Director and CEO of PGASCOM, elaborates on the company’s wide-ranging ICT services that are delivered through three touchpoints. First is the data communication aspect: PGASCOM provides a suite of data connectivity services packages for telco providers as well as corporates, delivering excellent guarantee in SLAs (99.98 percent), which is higher than average in the marketplace. Secondly, PGASCOM provides a comprehensive business solution to help companies manage and overcome intricate data challenges, supported by PGASCOM’s 24/7 helpdesk. The third aspect is PGASCOM’s managed services related to connectivity, such as infrastructure design and maintenance services to support its corporate customers. For a few of their potential customers that have limited budget, PGASCOM provide a solution to help companies overcome their initial monetary challenges while developing the ICT infrastructure.

PGASCOM has a strong foothold in the Indonesian as well as international markets across industries such as Oil and Gas, Healthcare, and Education

PGASCOM has also achieved significant milestones by providing their SCADA development in Indonesia for PGN Group in Central and East Java, and its managed service for all PGN’s SCADA in Indonesia. Prior to PGASCOM managing PGN Group’s SCADA systems, the company’s data was procured regionally in different systems and kept in silos. This caused PGN Group’s headquarters a great deal of difficulty in controlling its regional offices. PGASCOM helped unify the siloed data and offered a centralized, real-time dashboard to offer greater visibility and monitoring parameters to PGN Group.

Truly understanding and catering to a company’s communication requirements with utmost value has remained the secret behind PGASCOM’s significant growth. Looking ahead, PGASCOM views its comprehensive ICT and telecommunications managed services to grow further—attracting more customers from Indonesia and overseas. Ibu Maya reveals that PGASCOM has already collaborated with companies in Asia, U.S., and Europe. Last year, the company also garnered accolades for joining BlackBerry's Global Enterprise Partner Program as a Gold-Level Partner and launching a new Data Security service for Oil and Gas industry. With such growth and achievements, PGASCOM is poised to continue expanding its global as well as local foothold in the coming years.
