ST Engineering D’Crypt: Fortifying Digital Infrastructure through Hardware Solutions

General Manager of ST Engineering D’Crypt and Chief Product Officer of ST Engineering’s Cyber Business Area,Pang Liang Teck, ST Engineering D’CryptPang Liang Teck, General Manager of ST Engineering D’Crypt and Chief Product Officer of ST Engineering’s Cyber Business Area
While most cybersecurity solutions these days focus on analyzing data flow and software vulnerabilities, Singapore’s ST Engineering D’Crypt takes cybersecurity to another level. It distinguishes itself with its hardware-focused approach towards security to transform the global cybersecurity industry, building on its two decades long track record as a technology-centric company.

ST Engineering D’Crypt offers a full spectrum of cybersecurity offerings across the hardware product development lifecycle, including design and solution services. Dedicated to providing sophisticated security through hardware solutions, it develops products ranging from custom integrated circuits (IC) to encryptors designed to deliver heightened security. The company leverages its own self-designed and developed Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Level 4 chips to ensure its products are at the forefront of security technology.

The company creates integrated solutions by combining deep knowledge from various domains, such as cybersecurity, cryptography, low-level software, and hardware. This multidisciplinary expertise gives the company a decisive edge over its competitors.

“We firmly believe that the root of trust in security can only come from hardware, which is why we prioritize hardware development,” says Pang Liang Teck, General Manager of ST Engineering D’Crypt and Chief Product Officer of ST Engineering’s Cyber Business Area.
"Our expertise in developing the algorithm, the cryptography, and the firmware allows us to provide a full solution to Secure What Matters."

As a part of ST Engineering, the renowned Singaporean multinational technology and engineering group, ST Engineering D’Crypt has access to its strategic capabilities and resources. This synergy enhances its ability to develop innovative products that address evolving cybersecurity needs.

Its product portfolio encompasses a range of thoroughly tested secure hardware encryptors. Among ST Engineering D’Crypt’s encryptors, the Teleport Y stands out for its high-level security features like red-black separation and a FIPS 140-2 Level-4 chip. It encrypts the link—similar to hardware VPN—and provides a hardware concentrator in a spoke-and-hub architecture for seamless connectivity.

ST Engineering D’Crypt’s primary clients are defense and government agencies. The defense sector's stringent security requirements demand cutting-edge solutions, which the company meets by integrating its encryptors with state-of-the-art technologies to uphold high-security standards. For government agencies, ST Engineering D’Crypt takes innovative, cost-effective approaches to cybersecurity that optimize security parameters to deliver robust hardware solutions. The company has also developed a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) encryptor to safeguard Singapore’s electrical grid.

We firmly believe that the root of trust in security can only come from hardware, which is why we prioritize hardware development

Central to ST Engineering D’Crypt’s capabilities are its highly skilled engineers, known for their deep expertise in IC, field programmable gate array (FPGA) and printed circuit board (PCB) design, firmware and software development, mathematical algorithms, and cryptography.

The company collaborates with the Land Transport Authority on the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system. It has developed modules for transaction processing and security, which are being implemented in in-vehicle units across all vehicles. Through its secure crypto-processing solutions, it also has a strong footprint in the broader ecosystem, comprising roadside infrastructure, ticketing machines, and card readers.

Building on its culture of innovation, ST Engineering D’Crypt is set to launch Secure Computing Anywhere, a sleek, portable, and powerful zero-client IoT device that promotes secure work from anywhere. It is designed to securely access virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and remote desktop protocol (RDP) services hosted on enterprise data centers or the cloud.

ST Engineering D’Crypt is poised to redefine standards of fortifying digital infrastructure security, setting a new benchmark in the cybersecurity space with its distinct hardware-centric approach.
