The connected world in which we live today presents many benefits as well as challenges. For instance, any computer connected to the Internet carries a potential risk of external attacks and an organisation must have the means to counter such attacks. Therefore, IT infrastructure deployed inside a corporate network should be continuously monitored and assessed for specific network security issues. A pioneer in this space is Singapore-based Secura Group which offers a wide range of services covering cyber security, homeland security, mobile forensics, security printing, security consultancy, systems integration, executive protection, event security, and private investigation.

Formed through the merger between one of the most established security printing firms in Singapore—Secura Singapore—and the Soverus group of companies which has its beginning as a security-guarding agency established in 2008, Secura Group is one of Singapore’s first fully-in-tegrated security solutions service provider, and is listed on the Singapore Exchange Catalist Board since January 2016. Its security guarding arm Soverus has maintained the ‘A’ (Excellent) grading by the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD) since 2012.

On the cyber security front, Secura’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Red Sentry employs highly-trained and certified cyber security consultants who offer security assessments based on vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
Such assessments aid in the identification of the risk routes of enterprises and applications, bringing out the most challenging and vulnerable security issues which form the basis of future security investments by the clients.

Through its partnerships with several leading vendors—including IBM QRadar for incident response and security alerts, Bomgar for Secured Remote Access Tools, Rapid7 for vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, Sophos for end-point protection, Blancco for secure data erasure, and many more—Red Sentry is able to deliver end-to-end cyber security services and configure customised solutions confirm to industry-best practices and stipulated regulatory compliance requirements.
Besides Singapore, Secura’s cyber security operations also cover Malaysia and Thailand.

Secura Group is the first fully integrated security solutions provider to be listed in the Singapore Exchange Catalist Board in 2016

Most recently in March 2017, Secura incorporated Secura Training Academy to provide training programmes, including workshops related to cyber security to help small and medium enterprises better understand the current cyber security landscape and threats. Says Secura Group CEO, Paul Lim, “The Secura Training Academy is a concerted effort to put forward a comprehensive training value proposition to our staff and the public to meet the increasing demand for training in different security segments such as security guarding, cyber security, and homeland security. This is especially so as more companies are leveraging on technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness, which requires staff to retrain in order to stay relevant”.

Aiming to further deepen its stronghold in the field of cyber security, Secura has signed a memo-randum of understanding with Republic Polytechnic (RP), the University of Glasgow (UofG), and the University Of Glasgow Singapore (UGS) to develop in-house innovation capabilities in the cyber security space to build a unique ecosystem of talent, knowledge, and resources.
