Smarten Spaces: Creating Smart Structures Powered by IoT & AI

Dinesh Malkani,Founder & CEO, Smarten SpacesDinesh Malkani, Founder & CEO
Technologies like Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are gradually making the possibilities of an automated environment a reality. Today, the market has multiple solutions that help make commercial and residential spaces smart and efficient. However, the lack of adequate synchronization among various smart peripherals offered by different solution providers doesn’t necessarily streamline the workflow, but rather increases the clutter within the IoT ecosystem. To efficiently employ these solutions and technologies, clients seek a unified solution that makes them control everything through a single platform to provide a complete experience. Singapore-based Smarten Spaces fulfils this need through a unified IoT platform, which makes them stand out. “A lot of smart solution providers develop products in silos rather than focusing on the overall solution. “It takes an entire operating space which understands each user over and above developing or upgrading individual devices and functionalities to build an IoT ecosystem of the future” explains Dinesh Malkani, Founder and CEO of Smarten Spaces.

The company takes a holistic approach to bring all smart peripherals into a conglomerate SaaS-based IoT platform. Their ideology focuses on building a smart community for corporate, social, and residential spaces, enabling the occupants to leverage the benefits of the AI and IoT for a convenient and efficient lifestyle. Smarten Spaces not only reduces the utilization of resources but also regulates the need for cost-intensive hardware while saving 15-20 percent of the conventionally allocated space. Today, organizations ensure that their employees get a digital work environment, especially when almost 75 percent of the workforce is likely to comprise of millennials in the next few years.

We facilitate a multitude of features for the enterprises, commercial and residential spaces to ensure them convenience and security within their community

Smarten Spaces facilitates enterprises to work towards such an environment through their IoT platform. “We facilitate a multitude of features for the enterprises and residential spaces to ensure them convenience and security within their community,” adds Malkani. The company also ensures to introduce updated versions of their platform at various intervals by adopting an agile methodology.

Smarten Spaces aims at enhancing the productivity of occupants by streamlining all workspace requirements such as lighting controls, thermal settings, access to utilities, and visitor bookings. The company optimizes the living environment to engage, enable, and empower the tenants. All these features are developed on top of minimal hardware equipment, bolstered by a strong AI-enabled IoT core that fuels the smart ecosystem. One of the company’s recent collaborations with RMZ Corp highlights their minimum hardware approach. By utilizing the traditional camera equipment available at the infrastructure, Smarten Spaces came up with a Smart Traffic Watch that provided residents with real-time images of traffic conditions around the workspace, and redirected them to faster routes for an efficient commute. Smarten Spaces addresses various such requirements with SpazeBud—their proprietary application. SpazeBud is available for the users working in a smart campus to download on both Android and IOS platforms. The application allows them to get information about transportation, food, security, and other needs. Smarten Spaces also facilitates the members in a community to connect through the company’s community feature Bud Club.

Smarten Spaces employs a consulting team that understands the needs and necessities of newer infrastructures, followed by a thorough analysis of the available space for probable smart augmentations of IoT peripherals focusing on pure RoI. Malkani provides a glimpse of the company’s roadmap by emphasizing that these benefits can be easily extended to a cumulated set of smart configurations for campuses and museums.

The smart infrastructures created by Smarten Spaces also benefit the occupants with air quality control inside the establishments, shielding them from the adversities of the environment. As an extension of the idea, the company has taken up the go-green initiative to reduce the carbon footprint of infrastructures by employing ‘efficient energy management’ techniques through their IoT platform.
