SoftnetX
Comprehensive Solutions for Cloud Storage and Migration

SoftnetX

Fueled by affordable bandwidth and storage-capacity optimization technologies, cloud backup is becoming a popular alternative to portable backup media. With the rate at which cloud technology is evolving as a multifaceted ecosystem, it is now an essential tool for businesses to improve their efficiency. However, the abundance of cloud services has made it difficult for enterprises to select the right model for their business requirements, resulting in the need for an integrated solution for cloud migration. To address this, SoftnetX, an innovative product startup, has developed a platform for cloud connectivity, cloud selection, and efficient distribution of enterprise applications to hybrid and multi-cloud storage services.

The startup focuses on new product development to provide a solution for Cloud Storage by leveraging technologies such as Cloud computing, Virtualization, High performance Cloud Networking and Security. “We develop innovative products that combine software, connectivity, and services to provision, orchestrate, and manage Cloud Storage in a Multi-Cloud environment,” says Mohan Kumar, founder of SoftnetX. The software solutions support multiple deployment models including microservice applications coupled with in-house enterprise data centers, which can be scaled to hybrid cloud solutions integrated with multiple cloud providers for “Storage-as-a-service” offerings.

The company’s flagship offering, SoftnetX Smart Cloud Gateway is an all-in-one software solution for efficient selection, cost comparison, and auto distribution of hybrid and multi-cloud services. It is enhanced with high-performance cloud networking and security brokerage features to support a variety of solutions for enterprise cloud storage as well as migration of applications and databases. The Smart Cloud Gateway offers a single software pipeline for Cloud connectivity, distribution, and backup of application to cloud object storage. It utilizes smart mechanisms to implement rules based on both local as well as cloud resources to efficiently distribute and store data.

The Smart Cloud Gateway is available in three deployment models (basic, premium, and the future), offering various degrees of functionality related to cloud storage, networking, and security services.

Enterprises often overspend on various cloud services, due to lack of visibility into the costs and complexities of the Cloud services. SoftnetX offers several cost-optimized methods that help enterprises keep cloud expenses under control, resulting in substantial savings. “Apart from cost optimization, Smart Cloud Gateway offers high-performance virtual networking and security capabilities, and end-to-end encryption of traffic via transport layer security protocols,” says Kumar.

To highlight SoftnetX’s capabilities, Kumar mentions an ongoing project with a client. Currently, SoftnetX is conducting a pilot before full-scale implementation at the client’s data center. The objective is for the data center to provide Back-up-as-Service using Microsoft Azure and possibly extend it to other cloud environments for their customers. SoftnetX provided design and implementation in the complex environment, offering the client’s customers a customized user interface (UI) that featured a Self-service portal, Cloud designer, and Cloud explorer. The customers could then customize their own cloud-based storage solution using drag-and-drop capabilities. SoftnetX utilized its Smart Gateway Solution to enable the client to focus on managing the connectivity of their Cloud-based storage service.

Moving forward, SoftnetX plans to expand into diverse markets with its offerings. The company is also receptive to collaborations with partners to further develop its solution. The goal is to help enterprises and data center operators benefit from cloud solutions without having to deal with its technical complexities.
