THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING

SOLiD has been recognized by APAC CIOOutlook Magazine as the recipient of “Top IoT Solution Companies,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry. This profile has been developed by the APAC CIOOutlook research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Dr. Seung Hee Lee.

SOLiD
Driving the Internet of Moving Things (IoMT)

SOLiD

CIO VendorDr. Seung Hee Lee, Co-Founder, President & CEO
We are living in a world with 7 Bn people and 10 Bn pallets. When pallets move, the global supply chain moves. SOLiD builds IoT solutions for the enterprise logistics industry, that monitor, manage, and control reusable assets such as pallets, containers, reefers, Unit Load Devices—a world of "Internet of Moving Things." Typically logistics assets last for 5-7 years, reside in environments with poor GPS signals, sometimes shielded in metallic environments and tracking solutions are expected to meet several environmental, regulatory requirements in the real world—a problem that SOLiD IoMT solutions envision to solve.

As a hardware-centric total solution provider, SOLiD designs, develops, and manufactures robust, reliable, industrial-grade cloud-based asset intelligence solutions with best in class battery life, location accuracy in RF constrained environment, secure data transmission, and small form factor at the optimal price. “Having been engaged with the customers from the business side at project inception, we combine business and technological knowledge to build a better custom application for our customers. We enable Internet of Value," states Dr. Seung Hee Lee, Co-Founder, President, and CEO, SOLiD.

The team has successfully field deployed cellular based asset industry solution, in one of the world's first large-scale deployments in the U.S. SOLiD’s current product portfolio relies on LPWAN technologies—LoRa, LTE CAT M1, NB-IoT in addition to BLE, WiFi and leverages more than 25 patents (including published ones) in areas of power management, location accuracy, smart business event detection, global roaming, and airplane mode.

SOLiD’s IoMT solution increases asset utilization through supply chain visibility and solves customers VLD (Velocity- Loss-Damage) problems.
Mrinmoy Chakraborty, VP & Head of IoT

"By solving VLD issues, we not only increase revenue per asset but also enable logistics providers to move into new revenue-generating premium services," remarks Mrinmoy Chakraborty, VP and Head of IoT, SOLiD.

A new LoRA based product line called the Nirvana is available now, custom made for pallet and container industries. The NB-IoT and LTE CAT M1 solutions are expected for a global launch by Q2’18.

We build context-aware devices at the edge, and our goal is to empower business with easy data visualization tools and great user experience

SOLiD engages in consultative selling, offering their solutions with a technology agnostic approach. Essentially the company endeavors to build solutions for a very hyper-contextual and responsive supply chain, wherein intelligent devices can observe and respond to real-time data with equally intelligent applications. The firm's goal is to control the input (edge devices) and output (end application) of the solution value chain and create “Internet of Value” for business users. SOLiD’s mobile application LOGiQ (Logistics IQ) is currently under development.

SOLiD is currently engaged with some of the world’s leading land and air logistics companies in the U.S. and in South Korea. With strong reference solutions from industry leaders, SOLiD intend to further expand their IoMT solutions to other regions in India, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia.

SOLiD’s mission is to lead industry transition from the DNA (Device-Network- Application) stack to DNAi (Device–Network Intelligent Application). "We build context-aware devices at the edge, and our goal is to empower business with easy data visualization tools and great user experience,” signs-off Dr. Lee.
