Decision Intelligence for a Sustainable Modern and Integrated Supply Chain

Stemly

Global supply chains have been severely disrupted amid a complex and disruptive business environment in the past few years. Pressing and unprecedented challenges such as the pandemic and the Suez Canal crisis, fluctuating cost of capital and oil prices, as well as rising geopolitical tensions have put significant pressure on businesses and global supply chains. In addition, businesses are increasingly expected to create sustainable supply chains that make significant impact in promoting human rights, fair labor practices and environmental progress.

Executives need timely access to decision support systems to navigate these uncertain times and take the right decisions for their business. Yet, creating resilient and sustainable supply chains remains a challenge for most enterprises. A lack of cross-functional decision-making often led to suboptimal decisions for the overall business. For example, a decision on inventory levels made by supply chain leaders can impact an organization’s cash flow, yet finance leaders may have limited visibility and involvement in those decisions.

These challenges can be a thing of the past with Stemly.

Stemly envisions a sustainable, modern and integrated supply chain, governed by smart data-driven decision intelligence. Its interconnected decision intelligence platform bridges decision-making across supply chain operations, finance, and sustainability functions, by decoding data science to automate forecasting and optimization for timely information amid a volatile environment. Stemly’s cloud-based SaaS platform is powered by automatic machine learning to offer its customers with solutions such as Cash Flow Planning, Demand Planning, Replenishment Planning & Optimization, and Sustainability Planning & Optimization. Executives are empowered with data-driven recommendations to make swift and impactful decisions that consider business needs across key functions.

“Our decision intelligence platform is built from the ground up based on business-relevant and data smart processes” says Giuseppe Manai, Ph.D., Co-founder, COO and Chief Data Science Officer of Stemly.
Efficient supply management and demand planning require accurate predictions to respond to market and demand changes. Although supply chain and demand planning databases are regularly updated with an influx of data, extracting meaningful value from them can be difficult.

Stemly incorporates the latest developments in data science in its platform to enhance the quality and timeliness of decision-making for stakeholders. Its AI/ML-powered platform delivers automated machine learning and highly accurate forecasts via a next-generation user experience, allowing users to enjoy quick return on investment in the form of tangible benefits to their business.

Its API first approach to building its platform ensures seamless integration with existing enterprise systems such as ERPs and TMS systems. It also enables Stemly to manage diverse datasets, including internal and external data sources, as well as easily access real-time data necessary to build resilience for unexpected changes.

Our decision intelligence platform has been built from the ground up based on business-relevant data smart processes

An example of a customer success story is Stemly’s collaboration with a global processor and manufacturer of cocoa and chocolate, that has operations in over 30 countries. Stemly’s decision intelligence platform processed multiple data points such as demand by SKUs, possible recipe combinations, safety stock requirements, cost of possible recipes and seasonality data, to help the client optimize the procurement and utilization of its cocoa beans. Through Stemly’s platform, the customer was able to run annual procurement plans and monthly/ daily bean blending production plans. This resulted in annual savings in the range of US$2-4m per plant through the procurement of low-cost cocoa beans and reduction of write-offs and beans obsolescence.

Another success story example is Stemly’s work with the beauty brands of a top FMCG company to optimize their supply chains. As direct to consumer (D2C) brands that operate mostly in eCommerce, these brands need to make complex decisions around new product launches and the phasing in and out of existing products for inventory management. Stemly is providing them with Demand Planning and Replenishment Optimization applications optimize their supply chains.

Stemly’s passionate team of software engineers, data scientists, statisticians, and domain experts built the platform with modern technology on top of a robust and secure foundation. Its platform gathers and analyzes pertinent data points and assists its users in translating data into tangible, actionable insights to help make decisions that can accomplish their business objectives.
