The big data explosion calls for technologies with new forms of data integration capabilities to capture, manage, and analyze massive volumes data and extract insights that can drive better decisions and create competitive advantage. This is where TalkingData steps in. Established in 2011, the China based organization aims to unlock the potential of big data and facilitate smart business decisions. “Our mission is to enable and empower enterprises to achieve data-driven transformations,” says Yifei Lin, Co-Founder, and EVP, TalkingData. Lin believes TalkingData’s solutions will help enterprises to transform into data-driven entities by refining their decision-making processes and aiding them to mine new value and growth from massive volumes of data.

The firm is currently the largest independent third-party big data service platform and enterprise-class data solution provider in China. TalkingData’s proprietary data sets encompass mobile app and gaming analytics, mobile ad tracking, enterprise marketing cloud, and consulting. The firm caters to large and mid-sized enterprises with its ready-to-use data services and smart data platform.

In conjunction with its smart data platform, the company offers business operation analytics for the mobile app vendors and have initiated embolia business applications for traditional customers, mostly the commercial banks in China. The applications are also being leveraged to lots of retail customers, real estate customers, airline companies, and hospitality companies who have adopted TalkingData’s products and services from last year.

Our mission is to enable and empower enterprises to achieve data-driven transformations

To answer the challenges emanating in big data engineering, the firm has deployed in-memory chip in its systems and developed several mechanisms that can handle mass deployment of real-time analytics.

TalkingData also provides a marketing assessment platform it calls the Smart Marketing Cloud which is powered by artificial intelligence. The platform allows customers to assess the final result or the impact of any marketing campaign and utilizes KPIs for advertisement tracking to drive better ROIs. “We enable traditional customers to integrate big data into their legacy architecture and implement it on platforms like mobile internet, live show, or social media,” says Lin. The firm employs both smart digital channels (such as Weibo and WeChat) and traditional channels (such as SMS) to assist its customers.

Additionally, TalkingData provides O2O solution that integrates online and offline data and boosts revenue, particularly for businesses which require face-to-face interaction with a customer to seal a deal. To help clients tap into the full potential of O2O, the firm offers an offline traffic management functionality that allows customers to absorb offline data for their business optimization efficiently. Leveraging this solution, the firm aided a real estate agent who wanted to locate potential buyers at lower costs for its projects. The implementation helped the client connect offline data with online data and run its marketing campaign with continuous optimization of process performance. This association with TalkingData eventuated in a significant rise in the number of inquirers and potential customers.

With his 16 years of experience in Oracle, Lin has efficiently built the foundation of what TalkingData is today. The company sees great potential in collaborating with market experts and academicians and believes such endeavors will translate into benefits for the whole industry. TalkingData has set up a global innovation center in the Silicon Valley with ongoing collaboration with Tsinghua University. The push, Lin states, is the recent developments in the technology sphere that hold promises of being able to extract more out of big data. “AI, machine learning, and IoT are where our focus is at present and for the near future.”
