TechLab Security: Remarkable Security Products and Solutions

Bernard Chen,MD, techlab securityBernard Chen, MD
As the threat for cyber security increases at an expeditious pace, the risk of compromising or losing private protected data becomes manifold, which might cause short-term and long-term repercussions. Consequently, technology companies are making a beeline for cyber security firms, who can offer services and are capable of handling their security needs to live up to the customers’ needs or expectations. TechLab Security unlike its peers in the sector goes about cyber security methodically. Chan Bernard, Managing Director, TechLab says, “First we identify and review the customer’s existing defense capability. Then with our vast knowledge-base we address hacking activity and also perform a constant monitoring from our Security Operation Center.”

Incepted by a group of security specialists on the backdrop of meeting the growing market needs for Information Security and Internet Gateway solutions, TechLab Security has now established itself as a leader in Enterprise Systems Integrator and Solutions provider. Its successful journey hasn’t been the same though, as Bernard adds, “Security experts are hard to find in this country. So, we give a lot of attention and emphasis to our management and security engineers.” The company provides education, training, and a platform to its engineers to ensure good customer service. TechLab Security delivers excellent products and solutions supporting customers’ business objectives. From planning, implementation, and managing IT infrastructure solution, the firm trails none in the industry. With products like InfoExpress, Penetration tester, SAINT, M86, Nipper 2, etc., the firm fulfills clients’ needs of Firewalls, Penetration testing services, Vulnerability scanner, Gateway security solutions, and Auditing services respectively.

Even though TechLab possesses an array of products and solutions to market, Bernard insists, “It’s not all about selling fancy products and solutions. The key is services and securing the defense layer.” True to its words, TechLab offers a host of services covering every aspect of Network and Security.

Incepted on the backdrop of meeting growing market needs TechLab Security has now established itself as a leader in Enterprise Systems Integrator and Solutions provider

Led by a team of engineers with ample experience in implementing and managing multi-platforms networking environment, the firm delivers Consultancy, Assessment, Integrated, and Post-implementation services. TechLab as part of it after sales support provides a comprehensive on-site, customizable CarePack Program.

TechLab CarePack acts as the first point-of-contact for any issue and then brings in another layer of defense to enable knowledge sharing, and to prevent further hacking penetration. Further with its Security Operations Center, the firm monitors the situation and looks for any downtime, failure, mis-configuration, and also fine tunes the client to the latest security threat in the market.

TechLab also provides Training program to the customers who lack domain knowledge and post-implementation duties. The firm offers Certified training, Internal unlimited training, and most interestingly, tutor training. Tutor training is carried on a one-on-one basis to guide customers who wish to execute certain policy reporting and configuration.

Through it’s a decade long journey of offering services in the cyber security industry, TechLab has encountered and triumphantly managed numerous issues that have come their way. One among them was the case of a mobile operator in Malaysia who faced vulnerability issues with regards to data theft and compromise, a common occurrence with most database security. To resolve this looming threat over the TeleCo, TechLab confronted the challenge by ingraining a defense layer inside their system. The security layer would detect any abnormal activity or database query, submit forensic reports, and also send immediate alerts benefitting the customer greatly to act on the intrusion. Looking ahead, the firm aims to follow the latest security trends and traps to optimize its services. Bernard asserts, “The focus of cyber security in today’s world not only requires attention on Internal and External hacking activities, it is also important to look into Phishing Cyber-Attacks where our customers’ brand or reputation is exposed to the danger of theft identity subsequently financial losses.”
