Bringing in AI-based Cross-Lingual Solutions

Without any doubt, communication is the linchpin of interpersonal relationships. Language, in this context, plays a critical role by helping us express ourselves. However, as different countries have different language preferences, communication can be affected if people don’t speak a common language. Known as the language barrier, the instance is not only restricted to interpersonal relationships; it plays an antagonistic role in offering satisfactory customer services as well. Imagine a banking business, where every employee is a native English speaker, is opening a branch in Japan. It is natural that all of their customers will not be adept with the English language, and they may try to communicate the issues in their language. And most often, the business will not be able to understand the customer’s issue and their sentiment. Today, while many deep learning and natural language processing (NLP)-based solutions have come forth to address such business setbacks, there still lay a large chunk of companies who find it hard to work their way through an effective AI implementation.

This is where ToshiStats Co., ltd.—a maven in AI solutions and services—comes to help such companies remove the linguistic barrier in their businesses. “By coupling different deep learning tools and the capabilities of NLP, our cross-lingual intelligent system can accept inputs in 16 languages and analyze customer sentiment,” highlights Toshifumi Kuga, founder and CEO of ToshiStats Co., ltd. Reflecting on the emerging trends in the market, Toshi highlights that Asia being a multi-lingual continent, there is a pressing need to bring technology that is every bit as linguistically diverse and accepts inputs in multiple languages. Therefore, ToshiStats’ cross-lingual intelligent system supports Arabic, traditional and simplified Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Russian. Built and operated on a public cloud, clients can integrate the system as a microservice through API and develop cross-lingual FAQ systems, training modules, and applications.
Notably, the cross-lingual intelligent system of ToshiStats has applications in several fields such as e-mail analysis, sentiments analysis, anomaly detection, and digital marketing. For instance, in financial organizations, the customer support department receives thousands of customer feedback mails that range from piled-up grievance forms and loan complaints, to name a few. However, while looking through them hurriedly, customer care executives often find it hard to acknowledge several e-mails, either due to the sheer enormity in number or various other factors like difference in language. Mails received in native languages take longer to decode and make it cumbersome for the executives to respond accurately, which creates a gap in customer communication and also leads to violation of several consumer rights and regulatory compliances.

By coupling different deep learning tools and the capabilities of NLP, our cross-lingual intelligent system can accept inputs in 16 languages and analyze customer sentiment and other factors needed

In order to assist such companies, ToshiStats Co.,ltd. introduced a ‘smart e-mail system’ that enhances the customer service of financial companies. With the help of the smart e-mail system, companies can perform an end-to-end e-mail analysis, irrespective of its language. On receiving an e-mail, Toshi Stats’ cross-lingual intelligent system runs a sentiment analysis and classifies the negative feedback mails from the positive ones. Followed by that, the system categorizes the complaint e-mails based on the product and services, followed by information extraction. Here, the root cause of the feedback, the amount paid, and various other factors can be analyzed. Toward the end, the notification is sent to the customer care executive in a real-time manner. “We are leveraging emerging technologies to bring innovations that can democratize AI in a way where organizations are equipped with the power of a unified communication system,” says Toshi. What’s more, enterprises can access their database full of underutilized content by leveraging the cross-lingual system while removing the language barrier.

Moving ahead with such inventiveness, ToshiStats Co., ltd. has been investing heavily in research and development to stay at par with the ongoing market trends and emerging technologies. “By accelerating innovation, we are currently vying to develop products that are not currently available in the market,” states Toshi. The aim is to maximize the customer experience of our partnered organization, giving them a stronger positioning in the market. The company also plans on building its deep learning capabilities on bigger data sets like books and training modules in English to make them available in diverse languages in the near future. Eyeing a future full of innovation and technological enhancement for his company, Toshi concludes, “Our final goal is to bring superhuman intelligence into our products and services in the coming days.”
