UNDERPIN

Who cooks better, a celebrity chef or a grandmother? What makes a meal more delectable, the celebrity chef’s professionalism or grandma’s experience? The answer may vary with respect to scenarios, cuisines, and several other factors. Being a professional, the celebrity chef’s culinary skills are thoroughly assessed based on various parameters, but can’t a grandmother’s thrifty, inherently seasonal approach to cooking be evaluated too? While professionals optimally utilize their expertise and make money out of it, amateurs including grandmothers who cook for their families or musicians performing in front of friends hold more power to impress and inspire people with their free-flowing creativity. They aren’t burdened by the ultimate goal of economic gains, unlike professionals. But, with a plethora of amateurs possessing a wide variety of popular as well as unrecognized talents, wouldn’t it motivate them more if they are provided with the opportunity to appropriately value their abilities? This idea laid the foundation of South Korea-based UNDERPIN, which leverages blockchain to enable more people to express and communicate their talents and, in turn, receive fitting appreciation and rewards.

TALENTCHAIN: BLOCKCHAIN & AI-BASED PROTOCOL FOR MAXIMIZING THE UTILIZATION OF ORDINARY PEOPLE’S AND AMATEURS’ TALENTS

UNDERPIN provides talentchain and FANZY service, which enables people to express their talents to a larger audience and reap maximum benefits. “As blockchain involves decentralization and democratization, users can move away from talent distribution schemes where certain power groups extract all the profit, thereby facilitating more reasonable compensation for their individual capabilities,” says Taejoon Kim, CEO of the company.
UNDERPIN’s talentchain is a C2C2B shared economy protocol based on the version 1.2 of Hyperledger Fabric—a blockchain framework implementation hosted by the Linux Foundation. The protocol is primarily focused on optimum utilization and value creation of an individual’s skills in music, film, art, sports, literature, broadcasting, and more, thus enabling hidden talents to be rewarded with FANZY cryptocurrency.

FANZY: CORE DAPP FOR ALL TALENTS OF THE WORLD; BEING EXTENDED TO E-COMMERCE

As talentchain’s core decentralized application (DApp), FANZY is an incentivized video content platform for expression as well as proof of talent (POT). The platform is an online space where people can showcase their talents to the world through video content and earn rewards. Creators such as YouTubers can be token-rewarded along with the fans who watch their video contents. FANZY is inbound-linked with multiple platforms including YouTube, and all users can chat with their friends while watching videos. Furthermore, with the rewarded FANZY tokens, users can purchase various creators’ goods and services as well as products from the strategic allied open markets in the near future, and exchange it with the fiat money. In accordance with fans’ reviews, UNDERPIN’s artificial intelligence-based algorithm makes a quantitative as well as a qualitative evaluation—POT—of how influential and impactful a particular content is.

What makes FANZY different from existing content platforms such as YouTube is that it allows creators to seamlessly link their uploaded contents from various social media channels and then earn additional income. Notably, fans are also rewarded for watching the video content of ordinary people or amateurs, which proves to be a huge driving factor. “We can boost the inflow of users within a short period of time and generate additional income without any extra effort from the creator by making a virtuous circle and win-win growth structure with existing social media platforms,” adds Kim. UNDERPIN will continue to enhance its offerings so that people are valued in more rational ways for their efforts and talents. It is the company’s underlying objective to help people express and utilize their talents more effectively, and in turn, make financial gains.
