Verkada: Reimagining the Future of Building Security and Operations

Managing Director APAC,Francois Vazille, VerkadaFrancois Vazille, Managing Director APAC

Verkada is reimagining the future of building security and operations. Bringing together cutting-edge hardware—video security cameras, access control, environmental sensors, alarms, workplace management tools and intercoms—on a cloudbased software platform. Verkada makes the mission-critical work of securing people and places simple.

“Our key differentiator lies within the power of our cloud-based platform,” says Francois Vazille, managing director of APAC. “By centralizing what have for too long been disparate security systems under one holistic view, our users can easily speed up and streamline operations to make their physical spaces safer and smarter.”

Unlike traditional physical security ecosystems, often made of disparate systems that do not natively work together, Verkada’s cloud-based platform, Command, seamlessly integrates all physical security devices. This unified approach, paired with its AI-enabled software, helps customers across industries unlock new insights into their security and operations so they can operate more efficiently and securely.

Verkada is committed to helping organizations keep the communities they live and work in safer. More than 1 million Verkada devices are deployed globally today, protecting 13 million students, 4 million retail and hospitality workers, 1.4 million healthcare workers and nearly 6 million manufacturing workers.

Customers include the City of Los Angeles, which uses Verkada to streamline its incident management, operations and response for public safety; Brighton Grammar School, which uses real-time alerts to improve campus safety and maintain a healthy environment for students; and Heinemann Australia, which uses AI retail analytics to track foot traffic and access control to secure its sites.

Verkada’s six product lines natively integrate on its Command platform and easily scale across multiple sites and business locations. Customers recognize the power of Verkada’s unified approach to security and operations—currently, 64 percent of large customers deploy two or more Verkada products. Whether it's an emergency situation or everyday operations, the integrated nature of Verkada’s Command platform empowers customers with real-time visibility and proactive, actionable insights.

Our key differentiator lies within the power of our cloud-based platform. By centralizing what have for too long been disparate security systems under one holistic view, our users can easily speed up and streamline operations to make their physical spaces safer and smarter.

The company’s cutting-edge computer vision technology allows customers to streamline investigations. Users can search for individuals on a specific camera or across multiple cameras using a range of attributes, including clothing color, gender appearance, and facial matches. They can also efficiently search, filter, and view high-resolution snapshots of detected vehicles as well as generate multi-angle video playbacks and filter by attributes like vehicle color and body type. Users can monitor license plates in real-time, streamline investigations, and enhance security through live plate detection, high-speed character capture, and location-specific alerts. Verkada’s platform also allows them to visualize live motion detection and aggregated motion activity of individuals through color-coded contours or heatmaps seamlessly overlaid on a user’s uploaded floorplans. Helix, Verkada’s enterprise video search and integration engine, allows customers to expand the platform’s value beyond physical security. With Helix, customers can pull data from a variety of third-party systems and pair that data with video footage. For example, in manufacturing environments, customers can follow goods at every step of production by pulling in data from their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and syncing it with video footage.

Verkada is expanding its footprint globally, most recently opening a new ASEAN headquarters in Singapore, its fifth office in the Asia Pacific region. With 22,000 customers across more than 70 countries today, Verkada is committed to supporting even more organizations across Asia Pacific and Japan and helping them operate the world's safest and most efficient buildings.
