    VNTT: The Data Center Experts

Colocation, network infrastructure, emergency backup, and security are some of the deciding factors that businesses consider while choosing a data center. Vietnam-based VNTT not only checks all of these boxes but also helps its clients avoid the costs incurred in building data centers while assuring data protection. No wonder the company enjoys the status of being one of the most notable data center providers in Vietnam. VNTT’s data center, named edatacenter is located at the heart of Binh Duong New City and spread across an isolated area of 5,000m². It is the only data center in Vietnam that provides an optimal working environment for high density IT equipment that consumes upto 18 kW/rack.

The edatacenter grants availability upto 99.98 percent, allowing organizations to minimize their system downtime by less than 1.6 hours per year and increase revenue. “By moving their IT equipment to our edatacenter, customers have a control on their cost structure as well as time,” says Nguyen Xuan Thu, business development director, data center services at VNTT.

VNTT provides TIA-942/Tier-3 data center services with modern platforms and standardized operating processes. The company’s service portfolio includes colocation, dedicated server, cloud and content delivery network (CDN), data backup, and value-added services (VAS). These offerings together address the stringent requirements of enterprises.

Certified by international standards such as ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 9001:2015, VNTT’s edatacenter has been recognized as the information security management system. The company has also been providing PenTest—a framework for security assessment—to organizations such as Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park and Binh Duong Government. VNTT performs PenTest to uncover the vulnerabilities in any system under the supervision of its team of highly qualified engineers.

In addition to providing a robust security infrastructure and ideal data center capabilities, the company also facilitates connectivity between the primary and disaster recovery (DR) site, which remains the key element for maintaining a standard data center environment.
The biggest challenge is how to synchronize data between those two sites with delay of less than a second. VNTT helps address this problem with dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transmission between the main site in Ho Chi Minh City and DR site in edatacenter. The DWDM transmission system is a perfect fit for deploying enterprise IT systems and is also suitable from a cost perspective. “With nx10GE interface, fully redundant by two physical optical fiber routes, our DWDM system provides transmission quality exceeding customer requirement with 0.04 second of round-trip delay,” mentions Thu. The DWDM transmission is offered on a monthly fee basis which is only 25 percent of the cost of traditional MetroNet or multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) services.

Besides offering DWDM transmission services on a monthly basis, VNTT also wanted to deliver flexible software services to small and mid-sized companies on a subscription basis and therefore collaborated with IBM. Leveraging the IBM service delivery manager, VNTT launched its cloud center that created a secure virtual infrastructure for local businesses. The shared infrastructure delivers high-quality IT services at low cost and eliminates the need to understand the underlying infrastructure, allowing businesses to focus on innovation.

With a data center ranked number 2 in Vietnam and various other capabilities that make it a preferred data center solution provider in the country, VNTT looks forward to broadening its range of comprehensive services, solutions, and IT products in the future. A recent move in this direction is the company’s partnership with NTT, a leading telecommunications and IT company in Japan. “We have officially signed a business cooperation contract with NTT for construction, development, and operation of Cloud Wifi along with an ICT solution with the aim of developing smart cities in Vietnam,” concludes Thu, emphasizing the company’s continuous efforts to serve its clients better.
