Compass Edge
Serving Overseas Hotels with China Visibility

Compass Edge

When it comes to attracting the Chinese flexible independent travelers or FITs, it has always been a challenging task for every hotelier and tourism company. This is mostly due to the legal red tapes on social media platforms and search engines, which impedes the Chinese market penetration of foreign tourism businesses. And subsequently, the tourism businesses fail to entice the Chinese FITs. So, how can geographically restricted overseas hoteliers enter this booming Chinese FIT market and create a visible online impact? Interestingly, Compass Edge an innovative hospitality technology provider From China bears the answer to this Gordian knot. With its ‘Go China’ online branding solutions, Compass Edge helps overseas hoteliers establish an online presence and enhance their visibility among Chinese travelers.

The company’s Go China branding solution includes a complete package of responsive websites hosted on a dedicated Alibaba Cloud server and SEO for Baidu search engine, supported by Weibo and WeChat account set up and maintenance. Compass Edge helps hoteliers to set up the localized Chinese website solely based on the interests and needs of the Chinese travelers to suit their taste and culture, making it comfortable for them to navigate and stick around longer. As soon as the website is set up, the company ensures that the website is well positioned on Baidu as an organic listing. “Besides, we back up our entire client’s data every 3-4 days. Our clients have eight copies of their website on our dedicated server that protects them from hacking or data corruption,” says Anita Chan, CEO of Compass Edge. The company also provides customers with an Internet Booking Engine, meta-search integration, GDS distribution, and channel manager in its portfolio of solutions.

At the same time, Compass Edge’s travel alliance platform GoHotelsGo features all the Compass Edge clients under their WeChat GoHotelsGo official account and features the hotels in weekly ‘Always on KOLs’ or blogger articles.

Besides, the company also has a Facebook group “China Ready Hotels” to empower independent hoteliers in reaching Chinese FITs in more targeted ways. Compass Edge also generates an analytics report on a quarterly basis. The report has a detailed account of its client’s performance across the different stages of traveler acquisition. Compass Edge’s report also includes social listening which is based on Chinese travelers’ feedback. The clients can leverage these reports to change traveler acquisition tactics that align with the increasing demand in the market.

Further substantiating the company’s skills, Anita narrates a case in point, wherein, one of the luxury hotels in Thailand partnered with Compass Edge for almost two years in a row. Through Compass Edge’s effective Go China strategy the client captured the attention of not only Chinese travelers but also celebrities, establishing a solid branding presence in China.

Such proven successes have made Compass Edge a real catalyst for bringing change in the Chinese hotel market space. Moving forward, the company is focusing on new solutions to expand its digital ecosystem and investing its own solutions and capabilities to connect global hoteliers with the Chinese FTIs in unprecedented ways.
