Complete Human Network: Digital Transformation - Why companies move towards Device as a Service?

Follow Complete Human Network on :

Digital transformation is no more just a want. It Isa need, irrespective of the size of an organization. The agility factor that digitalization brings along also helps respond to today’s customers’ demands. But it isn’t feasible for enterprises to invest and buy IT assets outright on their own especially technology that upgrades regularly like Mobile devices. Not only looking at the cost of devices and their specifications but also to consider all the other factors (maintenance and life cycle)that contribute to the expense of running that asset over its lifetime. There are myriad costs of buying IT assets outright in terms of mobile security, secure disposal and sustainability when they’re no longer fit for purpose. Moreover, clinging on to slow-running legacy devices can drain productivity. However, such enterprises still want tojump onto the digital bandwagon and leverage the most out of advanced technology.

Head quartered in Kuala Lump, Malaysia, Complete Human Network (CHN), a purpose-built Mobile-First Provider, is a pioneer in providing Enterprise Mobility as a Service (EMaaS) in Asia Pacific. The company has implemented a B2B2C business model that effectively extends EMaaS service to companies and its mobile workforce (employees, contractors, agents, and sales &services mobile workers) both offline and online. The firm has introduced Device-As-A-Service (DaaS), which follows the concept of consuming goods and services by paying monthly, and it applies to every segment of business and even consumers. It works out the best for enterprises and small businesses because it includes room for repairs and maintenance and generally avoids lot of the hassle in buying. It proves to be a smart move for smaller enterprises that do not have the resources to invest in so much hardware, software, warranty, managed service, and after-sales support. “This is a model that we want to bring in as they do not have to worry about the cash flow because there is no major upfront capital expenditure,” states Teh Chai Peng, founder, and CEO of Complete Human Network.

Since there will be many laptops, tablets, and phones out there in the hands of consumers or employees, the amount of information shared through these devices is unthinkable. Therefore, from a security perspective, Canals provides mobile security as a part of its offerings. Unlike other players who either sell devices, services, or mobile security software, CHN provides everything combined in an offering as a service that satisfies users from every angle, such as security, affordability, or consumption. The firm’s DaaS finds its usability in various industries such as aviation, insurance, retail, oil, and gas, among others. For instance, CHN successfully launched an electronic flight bag (EFB) solution for Malaysian Airlines as a part of the digitization process.CHN deployed over thousands of iPads as a part of Enterprise Mobility as a Service which enabled the movement of flight plans, schedules, details from paper to iPad. Instead of carrying heavy bags full of papers that correlate to fuel consumption, now flight staff have to carry just an iPad. The ground staff can serve customers better and help them with check-ins while saving them alot of wait time in queues.

CHN is well on its way to achieving its mission of becoming the digital platform of choice for everyone as the firm plans to grow nationwide at first and soon become the largest Enterprise Mobility service provider in Asia.“The line is blurring between product and services. What we are doing here is to create a movement that changes advice buying or owning mindset to a device as a service mindset,” concludes Chai Peng.
