HiFX: The Cloud Transition Experts

Cloud computing today, is an intricate aspect of every industry vertical as many enterprises use it for a variety of reasons—be it the cost-effectiveness or the Always On features. However, the migration of enterprises from legacy technology to the cloud is a process that requires expertise and insight to make the transition as smooth as possible. At a time when there is a widespread migration to the cloud, it is best that enterprises and businesses partner with experts that are well-versed in cloud technology.
The search ends with HiFX- -a technology consulting company that has been in the cloud space for well over nine years. The company works with clients to bring about a value into their systems, with consulting and technology. HiFX follows the process of coming up with a solution first, before moving on to the technology.“We find that every technology or latest technology is not going to solve the business problems, but our solution process does,” explains Mohan Thomas, Co-Founder, and President of Technology of HiFX.
Being technology agnostic, the team at HiFX recommends the right technology to clients that are specific to their needs. Before pushing a specific technology to the client, the company does a Proof of Concept (PoC), runs stress and load tests to ensure that the solution is scalable for the client. It also evaluates each technology and looks at the support it can offer. This enables HiFX to always provide the most suitable latest technologies that are in the market.
Since the start of smartphone era and the democratization of the internet, people have been spending more time online, generating a lot of data for the company. As a result, HiFX employs a smart data management policy, which backs up data across different geographic regions in the event of a calamity and for redundancy.

The company retains backups of the last ten years’ data, and depending on customer requests for that archival data, maintains the last three years’ data, on servers in-house.
HiFX’s solution consultations apply to both—legacy and clients already in the cloud. The company does not expect clients to migrate all their data over to the cloud as there might be mission-critical applications that clients keep indoors. The company successfully manages the cloud infrastructure of more than billion pages a month. For the last few years, HiFX has scaled, and its support team has maintained an application uptime of 99.97 [measured using third party monitoring tool Pingdom]
When adapting client solutions for the cloud, it isn’t always straightforward. “There have been cases where we've had to re-write the entire application because things were legacy and were using very old technologies, the manageability was a big problem,” says Thomas. In one case, the company re-wrote the client’s entire architecture, key components—from the ground up. HiFX brought in a new framework that brought in scalability that enabled the client to manage user data. Most clients, in the past, would have had to settle for Oracle or SQL Server because of the lack of available technologies. In a bid for cost propensities, saving opportunities, HiFX once moved a company’s data from the legacy Oracle framework over to MySQL, which in turn helped the client with a huge tech budget saving.
HiFX is in the process of consolidating its cloud computing practices, by bringing in cloud computing experts and increasing the extent of its value chain—by bringing in solutions on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Before the end of 2018, the company is looking to open an office in the U.S. and is on the lookout for the right kinds of partners there to associate with in various geographies that deal with the cloud.
