IMAGO Technologies: All-in-One Hybrid Classroom Solutions

When the pandemic hit, many schools and colleges realized they were inadequately prepared to conduct online or hybrid classes, resulting in a lack of continuity in their academic plans. They had to lift and shift their curriculum online, almost overnight, to keep functioning. Confucian—one of the oldest Chinese Independent High Schools in Malaysia—endured the same fate, to either upgrade to modern-day digital classrooms or perish.

Equipping their classrooms and facilities to cater to the new norms of teaching and learning wasn’t an easy feat for a century-old institution. Besides making the classroom sessions digitally interactive, they had to make technological adoption simple for the teachers. That’s where IMAGO Technologies’ expertise came in handy to streamline the digital transformation journey for Confucian.

It was made possible using IMAGO’s all-in-one hybrid smart classroom solution that includes IMAGO Edu Board. Its installation and deployment were straightforward, addressing Confucian’s quest for a collaborative solution for students and educators.

IMAGO Edu Board includes engaging interactive board features, classroom management, and value-added educational content. It also comes with an embedded, fully secure video call application, IMAGO Flash, which makes the online classroom ready anytime.

IMAGO’s all-in-one hybrid smart classroom solutions suite also offers tracking cameras with AI face recognition capabilities to recognize a teacher’s face and follow their movement across the classroom during lessons.
The cameras can even be used to identify students’ faces and automatically track their attendance via IMAGO SCHOOL’s learning management system.

Its integrated classroom management tool, IMAGO Smart Present, further paves the way for teachers to easily share screens, reverse broadcast teachers’ content to students’ devices, and brainstorm ideas with students using real-time co-annotation. The integrated teaching software, in conjunction, helps ease educators’ transition to online teaching and seamlessly prepares digital content for hybrid or online classes.

Teachers leverage IMAGO Edu Board’s innovative smart classroom features via IMAGO’s interactive flat panel with built-in camera, omnidirectional echo cancellation microphones, and a 20-watt speaker. Students use their devices to join the virtual classes instantly via a web browser, without the need to install additional plug-ins. Teachers have complete control over the content broadcasted on IMAGO’s interactive flat panel and students’ devices, whether they are physically present in the class or online from remote locations. This hybrid flexible, or HyFlex approach to learning allows educators to connect, engage, and collaborate dynamically with students.

IMAGO hybrid smart classroom solutions include engaging interactive board features, classroom management, and value-added educational content. It also comes with an embedded, fully secure video call application, IMAGO Flash, which makes the online classroom ready anytime

“Our hybrid classroom solutions also cut down costs needed for additional equipment, as seen in the case of traditional whiteboarding solutions, so educators can focus on providing a better learning experience to students,” says Ethan Tan, CEO of IMAGO.

For instance, the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), a public university in Malaysia, wanted to implement a smart classroom solution as a part of their initiative for University 4.0. They did not want to increase the project’s budget and were looking for a way to use existing IT and network architecture. IMAGO’s EduBoard made this possible with the least number of cables and switches as it did not need to integrate multiple hardware from different vendors.

IMAGO Edu Board is a cut above the rest because of its proprietary Unified Operating System. It allows educators to run almost any publicly available collaboration tool like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or its own IMAGO Flash. It is one of the few operating systems that seamlessly collaborates with Google and lets educators effortlessly download any app from the Google Play Store.

The company’s strong focus on R&D and continuous development lay the groundwork for its future hybrid classroom innovations. It is backed by the company’s passionate specialists, who work relentlessly to boost productivity, interactivity, and classroom engagement. Through its endeavors, IMAGO—Latin for imagination—wishes to live up to its name and continue harnessing the power of imagination and technology to make education accessible for all.
