A Quick Guide to Overcome Speed-Bumps of Digital Transformation

As the world goes digital, businesses have realized how digital transformation can overcome the hindrances towards a digital future.

FREMONT, CA: Digital transformation is looked upon as an intense transmutation of industry and business activities to fully leverage the opportunities of a mix of digital technologies and their accelerating impact across society in a strategic and prioritized way. It is not a simple technological endeavor. Digital transformation is essential for businesses, but organizations are still dragging their heels on developing a strategy. Discovering and sourcing talent with appropriate skills is one of the major roadblocks that medium and large businesses face with digital transformation.

In a survey by The Economist Intelligence Unit for DXC Technology, 33 percent of the business leaders cited that the lack of a 'tech-savvy' workforce as one of the top barriers to transformation. Without appropriate skills in IT and other business units, businesses will not understand the possibilities of what can be achieved through digital transformation.

Companies are now recognizing the need to provide workers with ‘clear guidance’ on new tools and processes to get workers up to speed. Promoting cross-functional collaboration will allow digitally challenged employees to learn more advanced peers. Ensuring appropriate levels of data literacy in all roles can be achieved through continuous learning through short courses and more intensive programs. Experimenting with new digital processes and solutions through beta-testing with limited groups will make room for innovation since workers learn hands-on.

In the leading digital culture, the role of HRs has a considerable role to play. Talented and enthusiastic employees should constantly retool the organizations' culture and approach towards solving business problems. At some global marketing firms, technologists, and data, scientists have the necessary training in tech while they hone their understanding of marketing. Producers and social marketers know how to build digital platforms and tools collaborate with tech experts. The role of HR managers is thus to develop a talent pool whose digital skills span different functions.

Enlisting digital-savvy workers and stationing them in roles where they are expected to have the most significant impression on their co-workers are essential to cultural change. It's necessary that businesses create an incremental strategy to achieve enterprise digital transformation based upon the apparent possibility to drive ROI through enhanced effectiveness and efficiency.
