    AI: A Boon or Bane?

Apac CIO Outlook | Wednesday, November 17, 2021
    Tweet

As AI replaces robots for the majority of repetitive tasks and other work, human interference is decreasing, which will cause a major problem in employment standards. Every organization wants to replace the least qualified employees with AI robots that can do similar work more efficiently.

Fremont, CA: With all of the hype surrounding artificial intelligence–robots, self-driving cars, and so on–it is natural to assume that AI has an impact on our daily lives. In reality, most of us come into contact with Artificial Intelligence in some form or another almost every day. AI has quickly infiltrated our daily lives, from the moment we wake up to check our phones to watching another Netflix recommended movie. But everything that is perfect is also flawed. AI possesses some perilous characteristics that endanger humanity.

Let us look at the most dangerous AI traits:

    Increased Unemployment

As AI replaces robots for the majority of repetitive tasks and other work, human interference is decreasing, which will cause a major problem in employment standards. Every organization wants to replace the least qualified employees with AI robots that can do similar work more efficiently.

    AI Terrorism

There may be new forms of terrorism to contend with that are AI-enabled: From the development of autonomous drones and the introduction of robotic swarms to remote attacks and disease delivery via nanorobots. While Artificial Intelligence can make a significant contribution to the world, it can also assist terrorists in carrying out terrorist attacks. Many terrorist organizations are already using drones to carry out attacks in other countries. Terrorist organizations could also use self-driving vehicles to deliver and detonate bombs or develop guns that can track movement and fire without the assistance of humans.

    Advanced Hacking

Artificial intelligence accelerates what can be accomplished and, in many cases, outpaces our ability as humans to keep up. Malicious acts such as phishing, virus delivery to software, and taking advantage of AI systems due to the way they see the world may be difficult for humans to detect until there is a real swamp to deal with.
