Boosting HR With Fun And Games

By Apac CIO Outlook | Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Gamification is a vent for the creation of techniques that employers can implement in non-game contexts. It can be efficiently utilized to foster engagement

FREMONT, CA: The Human Resource Industry has found its calling with the assistance of technologies like AI and ML. The new-age tech has overthrown the traditional systems and the methods of the past to instill retention and encourage accurate recruitment.

The idea of mixing gamification and the HR arena to extrapolate creative methods for talent acquisition and management has become a magnanimous trend today. The technique of using the game design methodologies to engage users by igniting motivation and resolve problems is far lucrative than expected. It has become a vital feat to keep the employees involved as the statistics show that less than 10 percent of the employees are regularly engaged. In contrast, more than 32 percent are actively disengaged.

Gamification technology has become an addictive phenomenon that has the potential to create and support communication channels. Multinational organizations are leveraging this concept to build inter-personal communications and also strengthen workplace relationships innovatively.

Behavior-motivating techniques from a plethora of traditional to social games to non-game environments can be applied by gamification. Workforce alignments, problem-solving, utilizing out-of-the-box-thinking to solve complications, improve employee skills, and increase resources to extract cross-functional roles from the talent at present are some of the advantages of employing the technique.

There are technology-based applications like goal-setting, feedback collection, competition, and rewards, which can be effectively utilized to encourage the gamification among larger corporates. With the use of technology, retention is increased, attrition erosion reduces, and corporate culture is reinstated correctly.

The competitive nature of human beings is focused on and enhanced by gamification methods, as it tends to bring out the same streak at a higher intensity. The pre-determined goals the employees seek, like promotions, personal growth, and better appraisals, are highlighted.

The employees, while participating in games, are engaged and absorbed, and always on the lookout to find the right interpersonal team spirit vie to fulfill the training modules successfully and even motivate their co-workers. As the levels increase, the employees are urged to perform better with each level, which is a driver to achieve the best. Once the employee is engaged and positive in one of the zones, this feeling permeates into the other areas of life, fuelling a holistic improvement in the morale and interest of the employee.
