Key Skills that will Help You Become a Full-Stack Developer

Apac CIO Outlook | Monday, January 31, 2022
    Tweet

Full-stack developers are highly skilled programmers who can work on web applications' front and back ends. Full-stack developers are in high demand due to their versatility, making this a lucrative field to enter.

Fremont, CA: While there are many more areas of knowledge to learn on the way to becoming a full-stack developer, mastering these 12 will get you started. One of the best parts about becoming a full-stack developer is that you don't even need to go to college to learn these skills.

    1. HTML

The Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is used to structure web pages and instruct browsers on displaying their elements.

Almost every other language used in web development integrates with HTML somehow, making HTML a critical pillar of all web development.

    2. Cascading Style Sheets

CSS is a styling language used to create or modify the appearance of HTML elements. While HTML determines the website's structure, CSS is used to manage the styling and visual elements such as fonts, colours, and so on.

    3. Javascript

Javascript is an object-oriented programming language primarily used to add dynamic behavior to HTML elements. Animated sliders are a famous example of this.

Aside from that, Javascript is one of the most popular programming languages for both client-side and server-side development.

    4. ReactJS and JQuery

ReactJS is one of the most popular open-source Javascript frameworks for creating user interfaces. It is important for full-stack developers because it allows for the reuse of components, so you don't have to write all of your code from scratch.

Similarly, you'll need to learn about JQuery, another javascript library. While ReactJS and JQuery can achieve the same results, they do so in different ways, and an excellent full-stack developer must know which to use in which situations.

    5. PHP (Personal Home Page)

PHP is a popular programming language for backend development. It is an open-source, cross-platform language that works well with various operating systems. In addition, PHP is lightweight, works closely with the MySQL database, and does not consume many server resources when rendering pages.

    6. SQL (Structured Query Language)

SQL is primarily used to organize and extract data from a relational database system. In layman's terms, full-stack developers use SQL to communicate between backend elements such as the server and database and create rules for storing, modifying, and retrieving server data.

    7. Python

Python is a programming language that can create applications and websites, automate tasks, and analyze data. While other languages can be used to do most of the things that Python is used for, few provide the same level of flexibility, making Python a valuable language for full-stack developers to learn. Furthermore, compared to many other backend languages, Python has a reputation for being simple to understand.

    8. Java

Java is a powerful multipurpose programming language that can create mobile, desktop, and web applications. Java also has a plethora of frameworks that aid in the simplification of backend development. To dispel a common misconception, Java is not synonymous with JavaScript.
