FREMONT, CA: Software AG, a provider of Business Process Management solutions, announces the Smart Store Monitoring software for the Digital Business Platform for retailers. The latest software provides retailers with real-time and predictive analysis capabilities in their ‘brick and mortar’ stores by enabling them to access, monitor and analyze large volumes of streaming data from in-store sensors and apps.
Retailers can receive insight as to the success and performance of their promotions and campaigns, immediately and fully engage in the potential of Internet of Things (IoT).
Smart Store Monitoring enables monitoring of brick and mortar stores by delivering actionable insights to retailers hence enabling adjustments of real-time promotions and store staff assignments. It allows retailers to derive the maximum benefit from IoT.
IoT faces three technological barriers such as the combining of disparate data sources together, responses to a data event and dealing with huge amounts of data from different sources are taken care by Software AG.
Software AG intends to address the above issues by integrating a number of key technologies such as:
Enabling connectivity to all IoT devices including its store sensors, store inventories, feeds, external data etc. and delivering actionable insight as to what is happening in store. The software automatically adjusts the promotional activity by utilizing signage based on user’s response.
Smart Store Monitoring predicts and initiates actions such as deploying additional staff and replenishing shelves at the right times. By using the software’s in memory data management and in built real-time analytical tools, it ensures the information to be readily accessed and easily actionable. The connectivity and process management tools ensure in-store processes can be managed, and automated where appropriate, hence streamlining Omni-channel processes.
“The role of the store is expanding from a historically transaction-only point to an Omni-channel hub at the center of all selling activities. Additionally, retailers are under immense pressure to provide a seamless, superior shopping experience to stay ahead of the competition. To benefit from the store’s shifting purpose and growing shopper expectations, retail managers must be able to track, monitor, analyze and optimize all in-store activity in real-time.” says Oliver Guy, Retail Industry Director, Software AG.
