Some of the oldest forms of advertising can be traced back to sales messages written in papyrus or through rock wall paintings in ancient Egypt, Rome, and Arabia. Indeed, the ground in advertising has moved radically to various other forms of media ever since. Radio has evolved into podcasts. Billboards have become passé. Video streaming has taken over television. This is because the industry has adopted new technologies and responded to consumers’ demands to remain relevant and effective.

Today, the advertising sector is experiencing another wave of progressive technology, and it is offering new marketing opportunities to businesses. Enter augmented reality (AR)—a new advertising frontier, which presents fresh ways to engage the audiences and create an impact. Unlike images or banners, AR ads are immersive, interactive, and lifelike. In essence, consumers can see and even interact with them, which means they help marketers create a surefire emotional connection with customers. Hence, AR ads are not only perfect for promoting sales but also building a company’s reputation. Against this backdrop, partnering with Adelaide-based oodl can bring a world of difference for the marketers. “We offer the full spectrum of ad strategies and campaigns for television, print, design, radio, press, web, social media, and augmented reality,” says Trevor Worley, managing director of oodl.

Even though oodl has carved out a niche of its own as an independent brand, notably oodl started its journey augmented reality app that was developed by impressive advertising over the last five years. Using oodl, marketers and brands can share a more interactive user experience with their audiences. When consumers hold their smartphone or tablet over the image of an AR-enabled advert, the application allows the viewers to visualize the embedded digital information on the mobile device.
oodl provides an interactive dimension that brings customers closer to a brand, blurring the lines between the real world and the simulated world.

To this extent, oodl has developed its AR publication with multiple adverts, which provides retailers and other businesses the opportunity to have the first-hand experience in augmented reality marketing. It brings together several types of advertisements, such as hard copy, video, social media, and web experiences into one platform by interconnecting all media. For instance, the application brings recipe books to “life” as people can see the recipe videos when they scan the image of a particular dish. Oodl applies the same principle in other areas, also like creating retail catalogs and instruction videos for consumer goods.

Making it all possible is the company’s talented team of creators, including designers, video editors, social media creators, and web engineers. “When we develop campaigns, we research and create ideas with our clients to ensure that we develop the most effective and efficient solutions to maximize the impact and achieve great results,” reveals Worley. Having extensive experience in the advertising space, oodl understands the commercial reality and works upfront to ensure its clients achieve quick return on investment.

To further substantiate the company’s prowess, Worley narrates a case in point wherein, their first oodl publication was a great success, which had 18 full-page adverts with individual AR experiences. Each page contained an augmented video or animation that was displayed when consumers scanned the adverts through the oodl app from their smartphone or tablet over the image. The application even facilitated the customers with an interactive button that would direct them to the particular advert’s company website.

Such positive success stories are a testament to the company’s proficiency in the advertising realm. To build upon this proven capabilities further, oodl’s R&D team is constantly developing interactive and ingenious AR products. Moving forward, the company wants to create a more collaborative AR journey for its clients. “People with creative AR ideas for products, publications, street art, etc. can contact us, and we will deploy our full team to make the experience have the optimum and positive commercial outcome,” affirms Worley. With such an ambitious attitude, oodl is all set to take the AR advertising landscape by storm.
