Resource Solutions
Reinventing Recruitment Strategies of the Future

Resource Solutions
Oliver Harris, CEO
As the modern corporate universe transcends deeper into today’s digital economy, global talent acquisition methods have also evolved alongside this transition. A vast section of recruitment processes today are witnessing new realms of automation and software powered proving to be more efficient in matching the right talent with the right roles and organizations. Spearheading this dexterity to revolutionize the recruitment landscape, Resource Solutions marks its eminence as a provider of Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Managed Service Provider (MSP) solutions.

Established in 1997, Resource Solution became the part of Robert Walters Group – a world-leading specialist professional recruitment consultancy and is since developing robust solutions for catering the needs of the dynamic recruitment industry. With a global footprint across 30 countries, the company works in close partnership with organizations and manages everything from global accounts with demanding resourcing strategies to single sites with lower recruitment volumes. Currently, Resource Solutions sources and recruits for clients in over 60 countries, while managing a recruitment budget of over £2 billion and hire tens of thousands of employees each year.

With a strong position in the market, and an aim to build on top of that Resource Solution is developing quality solutions and driving service improvement, innovation and value in order to continuously exceed client expectations. The company is dedicated to finding the best technology solutions to support its clients' recruitment efforts.

Being entirely technology agnostic, Resource Solutions delivers its clients with talentsource, an award-winning and industry-leading recruitment technology, supporting end-to-end recruitment lifecycle tracking.

The company’s mobile responsive platform provides its users with permanent, temporary and Statement of Work (SoW) recruitment tracking, agency and non-agency source management, fully branded candidate career portals, contractor management and management information in real-time.

The talentsource platform is included in Resource Solutions’ overall RPO and MSP solutions. Trusted by clients spread across the world, the platform manages over $2 billion of recruitment spend annually, and supports over 75,000+ weekly users globally.

Resource Solutions’ Managed Service Provider (MSP) manages the client’s recruitment process with the aim to consolidate all contingent workers across a business whether they are sourced directly or through staffing. Through MSP, the company enables businesses to streamline their temporary workforce supply chain, gain control over headcount, spend, and mitigate risk. Resource Solutions’ MSP clients benefit from a truly consultative approach to recruitment outsourcing.

Candidate Management and its Vitality

A strong candidate management system is extremely crucial for carrying out successful recruitment drives. Talented candidates who feel that the recruitment process is not supporting them might step down from the process before being placed or might not apply again.

The company has designed its 'candidates as consumers' framework to engage with candidates at each step of their journey

Likewise, poor candidate management can have a catastrophic impact on talent management. A placed candidate who has begun their new position after a poor recruitment experience may carry those feelings of negativity throughout their employment. Resource Solutions manages candidates in a way that ensures that the candidates fell supported and positive about their clients’ organization’s overall recruitment experience, starting from first application, to the post-probation stage.

Working with some of the world’s most in-demand brands, Resource Solutions understands that top-tier talent receives a near-constant level of recruiter approaches as well as multiple job offers in today’s fast-paced marketplace.

The company has designed its 'Candidates as Consumers' framework to engage with candidates at each step of their journey which allows the firm to approach candidates when they are most likely to be interested in moving jobs. Through targeted messaging Resource Solutions resonates with specific talent communities, besides using personalized careers and EVP content that ensures the client’s success with exceptionally high response rates in video interviewing. The company delivers a high touch recruitment approach with ‘always on’ access to on-site recruiters, coordinators, and direct sourcing experts. Resource Solutions also provides fast and honest feedback at all times even for candidates who were unsuccessful. Additionally, the company provides post-offer engagement to reduce candidate dropouts through a blend of courtesy calls and welcoming push notifications.

Hiring Manager Engagement for Value

Resource Solution cultivates open lines of communication between its hiring managers and account team while ensuring that the hiring managers are always up to date on the roles they are recruiting for and the state of the business. For instance, Resource Solutions helped one of the Financial Services clients by identifying that time to hire was significantly longer than comparable clients. This was due to a lengthy approval process which could add up to 2.5 weeks for the hiring of permanent staff. As the approval process sat outside of Resource Solution’s control, the company began to investigate other process efficiencies that it could deliver in order to reduce time to hire.

Following detailed analysis, Resource Solution overhauled its end-to-end recruitment process and committed to ensuring that stakeholders and preferred suppliers complied with the new process.

Resource Solution further educated newer managers and re-educated established hiring managers, regarding supplier engagement and how to protect their brand through their interviewing approach, increasing awareness of market conditions. The company also provided them with up-to-date market information to the business, which enabled them to negotiate changes to the requirements of more difficult to fill roles. The company also promoted a more open channel of communication with suppliers and recruitment partners, enabling it to work with the business to make an adaption when the market suggests their expectations should be realigned. With the help of additional workshops, Resource Solutions enabled educated its clients on how to compile a hire requisition form and interview training.
As a result, the company was able to deliver a 16-day reduction in time to hire within one year while streamlining the permanent recruitment process that allowed them to deliver a more efficient and effective service to the client.

Vendor Partnering for Resource Planning

Resource Solutions functions on a primary principle that optimum talent management can be best achieved through positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers. As part of the global recruitment services that Resource Solutions offer, the company regularly engages with its vendors to ensure that they are simultaneously managed and incentivized. This means that together, with its vendors, the company is able to source and supply the most talented candidates to solve its customer’s recruitment needs.

Since 2013, Resource Solutions has enjoyed a strong working relationship with a UK based financial services group that provided successful RPO and MSP services. However, the firm was facing significant roadblocks in terms of flexibility in solving their recruitment needs and cost-effectiveness, as they wanted to lower the costs associated with having a Preferred Supplier List (PSL). Resource Solution stepped in and recognized immediately that the ability to maintain an effective PSL, where suppliers were consistently motivated and engaged, was key to reaching the highest talent attraction levels for its client. The company worked closely alongside the client to streamline their existing list of 220 suppliers that were appointed to the PSL on standardized terms. As a result, leveraging Resource Solution’s on-going review of supplier delivery and performance, the client undertook a rationalism program that removed over 70 agencies out of the PSL. This provided the client with clear visibility and transparency on suppliers and who were inactive on the PSL or falling short on expected delivery.

Additionally, Resource Solutions has developed an enhanced supplier performance management process. The company’s dedicated Supply Chain team conducts regular reviews, providing scorecards for the suppliers so that they have total visibility of their performance. Regular reviews ensure that only the best agencies are maintained as part of the PSL. All of Resource Solutions’ associated vendors are therefore motivated to continue their supply of the best possible talent and services to the client.

"A strong candidate management system is extremely crucial for carrying out successful recruitment drives"

Similarly, Resource Solutions’ Management also came for the aid of one of its longest standing clients, an Asset Management house, that was building a new global front office business system. Their business-critical project required 78 new contractor hires – 55 of which were Technology and Change specialists including Systems Architects, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, System Testers and Quality Assurance professionals. Resource Solution stepped in to provide the client with an Early Engagement, Single Stage Interviews, Maximizing Referrals, regular check points for reviewing the original resourcing plans and the inclusion of completion bonuses at end of the project to ensure best working behaviors; incentivizing contractors to remain until the completion of the project. Deploying these measures, the company was able to fill all 78 contractor roles within required timescales. As the project came to an end, Resource Solution also managed the off-boarding and redeployment of the contractors.
