SEAMBEST has been recognized by APAC CIOOutlook Magazine as the recipient of “Top IBM Solution Companies,” based on our proprietary methodology, reflecting its position in the industry. This profile has been developed by the APAC CIOOutlook research and editorial team based on insights from an interview with Fernando Enan B. Cruz.

Providing Maximo Implementations and Consulting Support

“While IBM Maximo equips enterprises with the mobility and functionality to manage their physical assets effectively, we fine-tune Maximo’s capabilities to align the solution with business requirements of all kinds,” remarks Fernando Enan B. Cruz, consulting director at SEAMBEST. As an IBM business partner focused entirely on Maximo, SEAMBEST provides solutions and consulting services for enterprise asset management (EAM) ranging from initial requirement analysis and devising asset management strategy to solution implementation and support. The company’s leadership has a vast experience in managing Maximo projects and knows the process inside out, which proves to be a great differentiator for SEAMBEST. This bolsters the company’s ability to deliver Maximo implementations in the utility, telecommunications, power generation, mining, manufacturing, and several other industries across the Philippines.

SEAMBEST—named as an acronym for Strategic Enterprise Asset Management Best solutions—not only boosts the coordination between an organization’s operational and maintenance teams but also assists in overcoming the political complexities within a firm. The company’s Maximo implementation framework involves designing the solution architecture to cater to clients’ specific requirements along with guiding them through the entire implementation lifecycle, in turn, enhancing the organizations’ overall business.

SEAMBEST’s implementation process starts with an in-depth analysis of the clients’ problems.

SEAMBEST not only fine-tunes Maximo’s capabilities but also configures the solution to align with business requirements of all kinds

Oftentimes, organizations fail to respond to the findings of purchase order (PO) reports and are clueless about where to begin. SEAMBEST provides the desired support in such instances and informs clients about the process to be followed, the company’s role in implementation, and also the details of the solution to be deployed. “We then deliver a standardized process that promotes the co-functioning of various fragmented departments within an organization,” adds Cruz. Once the client approves the process devised by SEAMBEST, a business blueprint is created. Further, the company’s teams of consultants and technicians work in tandem to deliver results that best meet the client’s requirements and design the solution accordingly.

SEAMBEST also helps reorganize the structure of an organization to enhance the workflow. In addition, the company suggests changes in strategies as well as the roles and responsibilities of employees with the help of Maximo, thus improving the way organizations acquire, manage, use, and collaborate with their enterprise assets. “We have always tried to portray ourselves as not just a company but also a consultant,” points Cruz. As a result, SEAMBEST’s success factor for all the completed projects is as high as 87.5 percent, which is extraordinarily higher than the average success rate.

The effectiveness of SEAMBEST’s implementations can be further elucidated by its association with a construction company that provided rental services for construction vehicles and other equipment. The construction company lacked a solid system to track its operations, which often led to flaws in the billing process. Inefficient documentation of invoices made it difficult for the construction company to deal with complaints of the wrongly-charged customers. The implementation of Maximo’s invoice module improved the accuracy of billing and payment systems to a great extent. In addition, SEAMBEST also helped the company set up a system to monitor truck drivers, keep a track of the fuel consumption, and also get maintenance alerts for the vehicles as well as the construction equipment.

Satisfaction of clients on all fronts is SEAMBEST’s primary goal. “To help our clients manage and reap maximum benefits of the increasing amounts of both structured and unstructured data, we plan to invest more in IoT, big data, and analytics,” adds Cruz. The company also looks forward to expanding its boundaries beyond the Philippines.
