Eko Communications: Easing Enterprise Communications On-the-go

    CIO VendorKorawad Chearavanont, CEO
People who pursued their dreams have changed the way how corporate world works. Well, the story of Eko starts with one such person; Korawad Chearavanont, who chased his dreams and made it all the way from his dorm room at his college. It was in the year 2012 he founded Eko—a workplace communications tool that combines email with mobile messaging for easy search and synchronisation—which is now one of ASEAN’s leading technology provider. Leveraging the advantages of cell phone’s inte-grated components, Eko provides an enterprise communication platform that offers a centralised administration tool to ensure data security.

The lack of tools for enterprise mobile communication has led workplaces to rely on unproductive platforms built not only for work but also for social communication. Perceiving this, Eko’s flagship features include instant chat, one-way announcements, topic-based project collaboration spaces, a synced company directory, and e-forms. Eko delivers its core offerings such as Tasks, Workflow, and Performance Management on a chat-based intuitive interface delivering real-time performance management that can be utilised by both administrators and users. The Task feature allows an employer to track and approve the workflow in real-time; showing the relevant tasks in a unified view and notifying if an assigned task is approved. The Workflow feature reduces the paper trail by digitising forms and approvals, by compressing e-Forms, e-Reports, and e-Approvals— minimising time loss and enhancing seamless communication between departments. The platform also allows to set performance goals for every employee, allowing managers to give feedback in real-time.

Eko successfully assists companies to utilise Amazon API to automatically set up a virtual private cloud of a new customer

Unlocking the true potential of cloud and mobile to revolutionise the way businesses work, Eko has partnered with Amazon Web Services to secure their products and improve user experience leveraging AWS Professional Services. The Eko team works very closely with solution architects from AWS in order to best utilise all of AWS's security and cloud features. Also, Eko trades a separate virtual private cloud and dedicated servers for large enterprises. The data transmitted will be encrypted with military grade encryption for data at rest and in-transit on mobile and servers. Leveraging AWS and its state of the art security features, Eko successfully assists companies to utilise Amazon API to automatically set up a virtual private cloud of a new customer. Moreover, working closely with its clients to deliver flexible and configurable products, the firm enables them to rebrand the product that falls in line with their company policies and showcase their culture. “We don’t just give them a software; we provide a dedicated customer team to help them onboard employees on to the products, assist in designing marketing material and internal communication strategies. That has helped us in building powerful user engagements,” says David Zhang, CTO at Eko Communications.

Eko’s products have addressed enterprise communication challenges across industry verticals. For instance, the company helped a coffee retail chain in Thailand to effectively communicate across its 200+ stores. Relaying on traditional methodologies such as e-mails and customer application support, the company wasn’t able to communicate in real-time with all the stores. However, deploying Eko’s products, the retail giant took advantage of two communications features such as Workspace and Broadcasts to connect and communicate across stores, bringing down the response time.

In the years ahead, Eko intends to empower Chats, Workflow, and Forms and encompass features such as performance management and KPI tracking in its products and make end to end solutions for all aspects of work. The company has also plans to capture new markets by partnering with local players to resell their products pertaining to retail and airline brands.
