The new wave of technology is rising at a phenomenal pace, and these latest technological trends are profoundly influencing the daily lives. Innovations like Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality have potential applications in several business sectors. When AR and VR are integrated into the existing range of applications, rather than working on a single product, these technologies revolutionize the entire industry.

VR technology creates a virtual environment where users can interact using their mobile devices such as VR glasses. AR technology presents the virtual objects in the natural environment. For instance, VR glasses can be used to display information regarding something in the user’s field of vision.

Listed below are seven industries which are likely to be affected first by these two technologies:

    • Educational Institutions

There is an increase in the online degree courses offered by few universities. Apart from this advantage, VR classrooms will make it more attractive to study at home thereby increasing and improving the student-teacher relationship through better interactions. These latest innovations are enabling new methodologies for learning and are also offering more user-friendly learning materials.

    • IT Services

Enterprises will provide a massive range of virtual worlds where people can meet and interact, and hence social VR services will become a mass medium. For instance, users will be able to meet each other in a virtual restaurant. Other places could include games, vacation destinations and many more.

    • Music Industry

AR and VR have the potentials to disrupt the music industry as well. VR technology will enable fans to experience concerts whenever and wherever. Music lovers will have the advantage to choose where they want to sit in a concert hall or the festival avenue.

    • Automotive

The automotive industry is still considered to be one of the most important economic sectors.  VR and AR technologies are advancing as they are becoming more powerful and are expected to grow well in the coming years. There will be augmented manuals that will display step-by-step instructions for the repairing purpose.

    • Retail

AR and VR are reshaping the retail landscape by enhancing the customer experience in the store and through the online medium as well. For instance, AR can be used to guide customers through the stores in an informative and entertaining way. Moreover, customers will be able to visualize anything before making a purchase which would lead to fewer returns.

    • Manufacturing

This industry will be able to minimize the costs and boost productivity with the help of these two technologies. The product development stage will be transformed by the application of virtual models which will help production workers to use the hints and the instructions.
