The introduction of mobile-based learning in the HR sector will not only enable enhanced training but will also ensure employee engagement.

FREMONT, CA – The emergence of modern technology has taken the HR sector from archaic, paper-based processes to robust, digital systems designed for speed and agility. HR professionals are leveraging the capabilities of mobile-based training to enhance their workforces. However, many organizations are lagging in the adoption of modern tools.

The conventional paper-based approach is employed in organizations even today, despite the availability of robust mobile training platforms. Often, customer-facing employees lack adequate training and are not granted access to effective reference materials and training guides.

Customer experience is often marred by the outdated training and communications tools leveraged by the customer-facing staff. Switching to a robust mobile-based training will not only enhance the capabilities of the employees but will also augment customer experience.

Over 97 percent of the organizations are taking steps to introduce mobile-based training applications and software. Of the organizations which have implemented the technology, over 86 percent are witnessing improved efficiency among the front line staff. Almost 56 percent claim that mobile-based solutions are not adequate to equip employees with the right tools to meet customer expectations.

Employees tend to lean away from corporate learning management systems since they are not interactive or streamlined enough to meet their requirements. Most of them prefer microlearning approaches rather than conventional workshops. Microlearning technology enables them to access sizeable chunks of information on mobile devices when working on the main tasks.

The main challenges hindering the adoption mobile-based training include the selection of appropriate training content and delivering the right material to the right person, while also assigning the proper amount of learning material. However, the drawbacks are few when compared to the benefits of mobile-based learning.

Mobile-based technology is likely to find applications in the onboarding process. The HR department will be able to send relevant information to the mobile devices of candidates regarding the organization. It can also be used to grant them access to mobile-based content, reinforcing the concepts critical to job success.

Gamification is also being integrated into the mobile-based learning approach. The advent of robust mobile devices and faster networks is enabling organizations to develop content reinforced with experiential learning, gamification, and social learning. It will enhance sharing, creating, and organization, thus promoting better employee engagement.
