    A digital transformation's definition goes beyond technology and maybe described better as "transformation in a digital age." This enables the organization to transform the way people work and every process related to that

    Fremont, CA: It has become quite easier for companies to enter the potential market with digital transformation. Technology has made it a child's play to launch a slick product or service with very few resources and also spending less time. A digital transformation's definition goes beyond technology and maybe described better as "transformation in a digital age." This enables the organization to transform the way people work and every process of it.

    The transformation has something more to offer than just technology upgradation. The complete business model is changed and is regarded as a wholesale enterprise shift. It becomes a challenge for the people at the top management to think differently as they are reluctant to part from the things they have been working with, since years. There are number of examples where organizations didn't adopt the changes and are no longer in existence.

    Importance of People in Successful Transformation

    There is no doubt that the 'human' factor or people play an essential role in any type of transformation, but it entirely depends on how an organization works with them. The business culture challenge has been an issue between people responsible for running routine operations and those involved in modifying programs and projects. Keeping these two groups disconnected can lead to organizational change foisted on employees, generating conflict, and even sabotage.

    Every employee must understand and take ownership of change, and the organization must offer equal opportunity to each employee to move with the change, only then a successful transformation can be brought. Creating a culture for transformation must be initiated at the top level of the organization. Senior management must demonstrate the willingness to move from traditional approach to an innovative and agile organizational culture.

    Importance of Business Agility

    There is an urgent need for the organizations to respond instantly to the disruption caused by the quick change happening all around in the markets and the customer demands. Organizational agility is thus becoming increasingly important day-by-day. It implies that the business and its employees must move from the idea of long-term stability to living in a state of volatility and be ready to adapt to sudden changes in the market. There is the same story with most of the companies where the project and the software team are using agile methods to gear up with the changes, but the rest of the organizations are still lagging behind.
