It is recommended that organizations must be knowledgeable regarding the emerging trends of cognitive computing before 2022. It is based on the basic premise of simulating the fundamental thought process.

FREMONT, CA: Cognitive computing is a combination of cognitive science and is built on the notion of replicating the basic thought process. It binds disruptive technology such as AI and machine learning with sentiment analysis and contextual awareness to solve everyday problems in the same way that humans do. It is utilised in a variety of businesses, including healthcare, insurance, and others. Cognitive computing aims to replicate human thought processes through self-learning algorithms that implement data mining, pattern recognition and natural language processing, machines mirror the functioning of the human brain. Cognitive systems such as IBM’s Watson, depend on deep learning algorithms and neural networks to capture data. Accurate results are generated when a large number of data is exposed to the system. Consumer behaviour analysis, personal shopping bots, travel agents, tutors, security and diagnosis apply these systems in their businesses.

Cognitive computing involves several trends. Cognitive computing permits a certain level of intelligence regarding human communication in chat-bots. It deciphers the users' needs based on past communication. Sentiment analysis is yet another trend where the user needs to give input data to comprehend human communications. On a general basis, this technology is put into effect to analyse social media tweets and reviews. By combining behavioural data and market trends to generate insights, cognitive computing takes up the role of risk assessment. When it comes to financing, fraud detection is applied by cognitive computing. As a type of anomaly detection, it analyses logistic regression, clustering etc. Face detection is the most sophisticated level of image analytics in cognitive computing. To differentiate from one face to another, the system employs face structure, contours and eye colour.

Thus cognitive computing becomes an imperative tool in accomplishing several goals from communicating with stakeholders to executing critical research. The cloud and edge facilities are expected to support the growth of the cognitive market.
