These 4 Tech Trends Can Transform Workplace Culture for the Better!

By Apac CIO Outlook | Tuesday, October 29, 2019
    Tweet

Starting from reporting inappropriate behavior to implementing diversity, the new workplace technologies will revolutionize work culture.

FREMONT, CA: Work culture can be thought of as an intangible ecosystem in which employees interact with each other in the workplace. The productivity, efficiency, and engagement depend on the work culture, which in turn is parallel to the ideology of the organizations. The workplace environment can be affected by both positive and negative ideologies. However, there is no denying the positive impact of technology in the workplace.

Gallup’s State of the American Workforce report reveals that employee engagement can yield a 21 percent increase in profitability. However, only 51 percent of the employees show commitment at work. Hence, to make way for enhanced efficiency and productivity, organizations need to turn their gaze toward the technological trends looming at the doorsteps.

    Workplace Safety

Employees who feel the need to keep watching their backs cannot ensure engagement in their work and hence cannot offer their full potential. Almost 59 percent of the employees who experienced misconduct at their workplace revealed that they were trying to switch companies, which takes the attention to misconduct management. Several solution vendors are offering effective AI-based HR platforms, which can streamline the reporting process, enabling the employers to resolve the issues quickly. The reports and analytics generated by the platforms can be used to create a safe and healthy work environment for the employees.

    Empowering Collaboration

The incorporation of technology can significantly impact collaboration in organizations, ensuring better employee engagement. Traditionally, collaboration was limited to common space or proximate geographical area. The modern collaboration tools have enabled employees to communicate and work in cohesiveness. Collaboration is important for the success of a company and can boost productivity as well as efficiency.

    Facilitating Balance

A massive 76 percent of the workforce finds it challenging to balance work, family, and personal needs. Hence, workplace flexibility also plays a vital role in employee engagement. Organizations can leverage scheduling technologies to designate tasks and interact with the employees. It can introduce flexibility into the work process, without compromising its cohesion.

    Promoting Diversity

Diverse workforces can help in developing positive work environments by empowering diverse ideas. Since different employees possess their distinct backgrounds and experiences, they will bring forth their unique contributions to drive productivity in their organization. However, along with diversity, organizations must also provide equal opportunity for every member of the team.
